Nigeria's Leadership Without An Easy Answer.
Nigeria is a complex nation without easy answers to her leadership challenges.
In the past I used to apportion blame to the leaders at the helms of affairs. However, when I took a critical look at the ongoings in our nation, I came to a conclusion that it is not easy to lead a plural nation like ours. Why did I say this?
Nigeria is a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multi-lingual and different levels of education, idealogies among the citizens.
To rule such a nation, one must be equiped with different leadership styles such as autocratic, democratic, laissez-faire, charismatic, transformational, transactional and among others.
In other words, situational leadership skills must be employed.
If you're not on the hot seat, it is easy to criticize or blame whoever is holding fort.
From my seat of leadership observation since 1960; I discovered that to lead is not an easy task at all. This is because you have to satisfy the interests of the various individuals or groups forming the nation. This is a herculean task!!!. Whoever will lead must be ready for criticisms or insults, harassment and much more.
What are the immediate factors of leadership to be observed?
