Cheers to Beer: The Drink at the heart of Life's Meaningful Moments! 🍻

“Let’s grab a beer.” No matter who you are, or what you do, or where you live, whenever you hear those four magic words, you know it means so much more than just drinking a cold one. It’s an invitation – to talk, to celebrate, to reconnect or to just complain about your boss.

Say it right now to your friend, your new co-worker, your grandfather, even your boss, and watch their response. Whether 100 years ago or 100 years from now, saying “let’s grab a beer” to anyone signifies making a memory together with the people you care about the most
That’s as real as it gets. But how?

Let’s start with what’s in the glass. Beer is made from simple ingredients found in nature: grains, hops, yeast, and water. It’s spectacular in its simplicity.

Let’s start with what’s in the glass. Beer is made from simple ingredients found in nature: grains, hops, yeast, and water. It’s spectacular in its simplicity.

Beer is local. Its ingredients are grown and harvested by local farmers, and every beer supports those farmers and their communities. A beer is at its absolute best when it’s done this way, no doubt.

And above all, Beer is social. It’s the beverage of experiences. Whether it’s in a backyard or a music festival, in a fancy restaurant or a roaring stadium, a beer fits any occasion. Actually, when you think about it, “grabbing a beer” is usually the occasion.

Beer is shaping how we drink. As the beverage for moderation, with a growing range of low- and no-alcohol beer options, you can say “cheers” more than ever before. And we keep innovating to give people what they’re looking for, without changing what they love most.

So, the next time you’re thinking about what to hold when you say “Cheers,” remember this: Beer is special. Grabbing one brings people together like nothing else.

Here’s to a future with more Cheers!

A defining moment for International Breweries Plc.

Our 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) brought together our shareholders, Board of Directors, regulators and other stakeholders to review our 2025 performance and chart the next phase of our journey.

The meeting, beyond a statutory obligation, reflected the strength of resilient leadership, disciplined ex*****on and the enduring confidence of our shareholders.

Key highlights from the 2025 financial year include:
• ₦619.04 billion in revenue, representing 26.6% growth year-on-year.
• A return to profitability with ₦88.96 billion Profit Before Tax and ₦50.91 billion Profit After Tax.
• A debt-free balance sheet, following the full repayment of our USD-denominated loan.
• Shareholders' approval of the Company's capital reorganisation, creating the pathway for future shareholders' returns as profitability is sustained.

Beyond the financial performance, shareholders also received updates on our continued investments in Nigeria; from expanding our portfolio with innovations such as Budweiser Royale, Flying Fish 500ml and Castle Lite 500ml Cans, to celebrating ten years of the Kickstart Entrepreneurship Programme, which has empowered thousands of entrepreneurs and strengthened local communities.

We are grateful to our shareholders for their unwavering confidence, our Board for its steadfast governance, and our employees whose commitment has helped position the business for this new chapter.

As we look ahead, we remain focused on delivering sustainable growth, creating long-term value for all stakeholders, and continuing our purpose of bringing people together for a Future with More Cheers.

Last week, we hosted our Cheers to Bars simultaneously in Lagos and Abuja, leveraging the Budweiser FIFA World Cup™ watch party to bring together distinguished guests including MOBOLAJI OGUNLENDE (RAK.N.G.O) (Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development), Mr. Segun Ajayi Kadiri (Director General, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria), Mr. Adewale Jones (Executive Secretary, Association of Food, Beverage and To***co Employers), Ms. Teresa Ogomo (Lagos Regional Director, Standards Organisation of Nigeria), former Super Eagles Captain Joseph Yobo, and other senior government officials, regulators, hospitality leaders and trade partners – for one conversation: Nigeria's bars are economic engines, and it is time policy reflected that.

The numbers tell the story. Nigeria's beer sector contributes ₦2.6 trillion to our GDP, supports over one million jobs, and connects an entire value chain – from sorghum farmers to distributors to the bar owner who kept the lights on and the bottles cold for every match so far.

Through our Retailer Development Programme, we have trained approximately 2,000 bar owners across Nigeria in business skills and responsible service practices. Because investing in the people who serve our brands is as important as the brands themselves.

Budweiser, as the Official Beer Sponsor of the FIFA World Cup™ for 40 consecutive years, gave us the global platform. 'Cheers to Bars' is how we are using it – to tell Nigeria's story, champion its bars, and build conversations that matter long after the tournament.

And we are just getting started. Cheers to Bars continues across our brewery communities in Ilesa, Onitsha, Port Harcourt and Sagamu throughout the tournament, with Trophy Premium Lager and Hero Lager watch parties bringing the same energy – and the same message – to communities across Nigeria.

To every stakeholder who joined us: thank you. To Nigeria's bar owners, retailers and hospitality workers: this one is for you.

Recently, leaders from across AB InBev's Africa Zone gathered in Durban, South Africa for the annual Leadership, Performance & Cheers (LPC) Conference; the Africa Zone's flagship gathering for strategy, alignment, and celebrating the people driving this business forward.

International Breweries PLC – our Nigerian Business Unit, was fully represented. Our MANCOM and leadership team showed up and engaged at the highest level of the zone conversation.

And then came a moment that made us incredibly proud.

Onyejiaka, our Route-to-Market & Trade Marketing Director and MANCOM member, was named a Partner within AB InBev; one of a select few elevated to this distinction at the conference.

In AB InBev's meritocratic, ownership-driven culture, being named a Partner is not a ceremonial title. It means you are trusted to co-own the dream – to carry the business forward as a genuine stakeholder, not just an executive. It is among the highest recognitions the company confers on its people.

Yvonne has built this distinction right here in Nigeria, through years of consistent excellence and impact that speaks for itself.

To Yvonne – congratulations. We see you. We celebrate you. And we are proud that your story is being told from BU Nigeria.

During Africa Month, we brought together leaders from across the continent for the 2026 Leadership, Performance & Cheers (LPC) Convention in Durban, South Africa.

It was a strong reminder that our strength lies in our people, shared purpose, and ambition to grow together as a Zone.

By acting with speed, simplicity, and unity, we are ready to unlock the opportunities ahead.
