International Breweries MD Nick Kade Joins Beer Sectoral Group in High-Level Engagement with Honourable Minister for Finance.

International Breweries Plc took its seat at a pivotal industry conversation, as our Managing Director, Nick Kade, engaged the Honourable Minister for Finance and Coordinating Minister of Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, alongside peer CEOs under the Beer Sectoral Group Nigeria (BSG) - reinforcing our company's active role in contributing to the policy environment that underpins Nigeria's brewing sector. The Beer sector has been a significant contributor to the nation's economy - the sector is supporting 3m jobs (Direct and Indirect) with a GDP contribution of $1.8BN.

The delegation - comprising Thibaut Boidin, Chairman of the Beer Sectoral Group/Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries and Girish Sharma, Managing Director of Guinness Nigeria; BSG Executive Director Abiola Laseinde, and Corporate Affairs Directors across the three brewing companies - presented a cohesive, data-informed perspective on the fiscal and regulatory environment shaping the sector's outlook.

Discussions centred on sustaining a resilient, investment-friendly brewing industry through policy clarity stability, regulatory efficiency, and a fiscal framework that supports local production, employment, and long-term value creation that the beer sector is known for. The delegation emphasised the importance of balanced regulatory approaches that reinforce existing compliance frameworks without generating unintended pressures on the sector's affordability, competitiveness, or broader economic contribution.

We appreciate the Honourable Minister's warm reception to industry’s input and his orientation toward practical, data-driven engagement. IBPLC remains committed to collaborative dialogue as the foundation for sound, mutually beneficial policy outcomes.

At International Breweries Plc, we are proud of the role we continue to play in Nigeria's economic landscape - sustaining livelihoods across our value chain and contributing meaningfully to government revenues through consistent compliance. As a proud part of AB InBev, the world’s largest brewer, we remain steadfast in our commitment to responsible growth and long-term investment in Nigeria.

Cheers to Nature!

At International Breweries PLC, proudly part of AB InBev, water is at the heart of everything we do; from being the number one ingredient in beer to serving as a vital resource for the communities we operate in.

Over the years, we’ve made significant progress in our water stewardship journey. Since 2017, we have improved our water use per hectolitre of production by over 10%, reflecting our commitment to efficient, responsible water use across our operations.

But our work doesn’t stop there. While we brew great beer today, we’re investing in water protection and access initiatives to ensure this precious resource is preserved for generations to come.

Because Nature is our nature.

Celebrating an Exceptional Leader - Thank You, Carlos!

Today, we proudly celebrate the impactful leadership journey of Carlos Coutiño, who has now transitioned into his new role within the AB InBev family.

Carlos’ eight years at International Breweries Plc (IBPLC) have been defined by purpose, resilience, innovation, and transformative results. From his early days in 2018 as National Sales/Trade Marketing Director to becoming Managing Director / Business Unit President, Carlos consistently demonstrated strategic clarity, commercial depth, and a passion for developing people.

Under his leadership, IBPLC achieved remarkable commercial gains, strengthened its market position, and returned to profitability after years of restructuring. He also fostered a culture in trust, inclusion, and high performance, leading to the highest employee engagement scores within AB InBev’s Nigeria operations.

One of Carlos’ most notable legacies is his contribution to digital transformation in Nigeria. He led the development of a best-in-class digital product built with outstanding Nigerian talents - an innovation now scaled across multiple markets within AB InBev.

As Carlos continues in his new role as President for El Salvador and Honduras, we extend our deepest appreciation for his profound commitment and the lasting impact he leaves behind.

We had the privilege of joining certified organisations from across Africa at the Top Employers Certification Celebration 2026 Gala in Johannesburg - a truly remarkable gathering of HR excellence.

Hosted at the Sandton Convention Centre, the event – themed “Night Full of Stars” - brought together Africa’s Top Employers for a day of insights, best‑practice sharing, and an evening dedicated to celebrating organisations shaping the future of work.

For us at International Breweries Plc, standing among certified organisations from 28 African countries and over 315 recognised employers on the continent was both inspiring and energising.

Being honoured once again as a Top Employer Nigeria 2026 is beyond a certification. The award reflects a testament to the dedication, passion, and ownership demonstrated daily by our incredible colleagues in International Breweries. The award reinforced why we invest deeply in our people and why they remain at the heart of our success.

The Gala night experience was a powerful reminder that when organisations commit to building strong, inclusive, and growth‑oriented workplaces, the impact goes far beyond the business - it shapes the future of work. Here’s to our teams across Nigeria.

Here’s to more growth, more learning, and a future with more cheers.
