As the lead consultant at Disrupt Politico, Idagu lead political communication campaigns in Nigeria at the Presidential, Governorship, and Senatorial elections. Disrupt Politico provides brand strategy, grassroot communication and mobilization strategy, traditional and online media relations and management, online reputation and crises management, social media, and overall communications strategy for clients. In 2015, Idagu worked on the grassroot communication strategy for presidential aspirant, Kingsley Moghalu for the south west region of Nigeria during the 2015 presidential elections in Nigeria. In 2019, he was appointed the Director of communications and public relations for the Governorship elections of the then-Senator, now Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa state. Idagu was responsible for the entire Public relations, brand messaging, reputation management other related communications responsibilities pre, during, and post-election. He worked with a team of over 40 persons across different roles and responsibilities, including; Research, strategy, creative design, Digital and Social Media, Video and Photography, Media, etc. He also worked with the political party of the candidate and the party communications structure to raise the candidate's visibility, manage perception, create our narrative, debunk propaganda and ultimately work towards the candidate's victory. On February 14, 2020, Senator Douye Diri was sworn in as the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State. Still, in 2019, Idagu provided communications strategy for the election of the former Governor, of Bayelsa state, who is now in the Nigerian senate. In 2021, he was invited by ElectHER through its Future Law Makers program to facilitate PR and communications sessions for 35 women who are being groomed to contest in various legislative seats in the 2023 Nigerian elections. Idagu is a founding team member and mentor for Africaโs first Public relations and communications mentorship program dedicated exclusively for African Female Tech Founders; The Future is Female Mentorship Program. Launched in 2020, the program has received attention and support from stakeholders in the African tech ecosystem, including a recent partnership with TechCabal and Africa Communications Week. The 25 mentees of the program's second edition were exclusively announced in Forbes. The mentees have been featured in tech publications such as Disrupt Africa, Techcity, TechCabal, Tech Trends, Tech in Africa, Tech gist Africa and more. After going through the mentorship program, some mentees have been spotted and received international recognition and partnership.
