Kenya gave me two things I deeply appreciate:

Nyama Choma & real investment conversations.

Somewhere between Mbuzi Choma (goat ribs, properly grilled) and Ugali, I was reminded why East Africa continues to punch above its weight — not just culturally, but economically.

Kenya is known for wildlife, athletics and innovation — but it’s also a serious investment destination. From capital markets to hospitality, tech to manufacturing, the conversations we had during the launch reinforced one thing:

👉 The region is ready for more intra-African capital, more diaspora participation, and smarter cross-border collaboration.

And we’re not stopping there.

One week after the launch of the Building For Africa Business Investment Show in Kenya, I’m still sitting with what happened.

Beyond the glam, the press coverage (yes, we’ve been in the news 👀), and the Instagrammable moments, there were real, tangible outcomes that reaffirm why I’m committed to using media and storytelling as a tool to facilitate intra-African and diaspora investment into the continent.
One moment, in particular, stayed with me.

After the event, someone (details withheld for now) walked up to me and shared that a conversation sparked in the room had already led to the initiation — and likely closure — of a deal worth KES 75 million (over 500M dollars. In that moment, everything clicked.

I remembered “instructing” everyone in the room to stop waiting and make deals happen in real time — right there, surrounded by business leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs.

Hearing that outcome made every late night, every call, every logistical challenge worth it.

This is why we exist.
