RABBIT- A SEMI-RUMINANT ANIMAL
The uniqueness of rabbit feeding habit&digestive system lies in its ability to carry out a pseudo-rumination process known as 'Caecotrophy' which is the act of re-eating of soft pellets.
Caecotrophy which started very early at about three weeks of age permits further digestion of fibre, recycling of unabsorbed nutrients, enhances absorption of crude protein to mention a few.

In male, the first manifestation of sexual behavior appear between 60-70 days but te**is development start slowly at 2nd week with s***matogenesis beginning between 40-50 days while testicular tubules become more active at about 84 days. The daily s***m production is roughly 150-300 million while volume of semen ej******ed during mating is about 0.3-0.6ml with the first ej*****te acting as preparation for the second, the first ej*****te is more voluminous than the second but the 2nd is more concentrated than the first. Hence, there's need for 'second mating'
