IPhone 7 Makes A Hissing Sound

With a brand new iPhone 7, users hardly wanted to hear a strange hissing sound which may give rise to doubts about the quality of the device. But the fact is that there isn’t much that we need to worry about here. The hissing sound would be heard in brand new phones when you are restoring the iPhone for the first time.

Since this takes a lot of CPU power, the new A10 processor ends up making a hissing sound. It is common to see PCs face a similar problem which is known as ‘coil whine’. This problem generally occurs when the CPU is heavily burdened.

The solution for this problem is to use your phone as usual and wait for the sound to subside as your phone lubricates its internal parts. However, if you find that the sound is not subsiding and it looks pretty severe, then consider taking the phone to the Apple Store for help.

Hard Reboot / Restart iPhone 7 Or iPhone 7 Plus, Here’s How
By Paul Morris | September 17th, 2016

Here’s a guide on how to hard reboot / restart iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus now that Apple has introduced a capacitive Home/Touch ID button on the new phones.

If you are a proud owner of Apple’s brand new iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, and have encountered some difficulties that could potentially be resolved with a hard reboot of the device – such as an app hanging or slow network performance – then you may find yourself struggling to work out how to actually hard reboot the device.

With Apple changing how the Home button works on the iPhone 7, effectively changing it from a mechanical button that has been present on all iPhones, to a new capacitive touch-pad installation, the method of invoking a hard device reboot has changed slightly.

Here we are going to run you through the process to make sure that you can instantly perform that reboot in case your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus gets stuck, and you need an immediate restart. Here’s what you need to do.

Step 1: First and foremost, take your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus in your hands and press the Power/Lock button on the right-hand side. This is one stage of the reboot process that hasn’t changed from earlier devices.

Step 2: While keeping the Power/Lock button pressed down, locate the volume buttons on the left-hand side of the iPhone 7 and press the volume down button at the same time as Power/Lock button. Make sure to keep both buttons pressed down.

Step 3: With both buttons pressed down, the screen on the iPhone 7 will go off as if the device has powered itself down.

Step 4: Now wait for the screen to come back on and display the familiar looking Apple logo. Once you see the Apple boot logo, let go of both the buttons.

Your phone has effectively been rebooted and will go through the process of booting up back to the Lock screen.

And there you have it. The process of hard rebooting an iPhone 7 may be slightly different than that of older iPhone models, but it still follows a very similar process, and still gets the job done.

If you have an older iPhone, and have yet to figure out the reboot process, then you can follow our original guide for devices like the iPhone 6s, iPhone 5, or even Apple’s iPad models here: How To Hard Reboot / Restart Your iPhone, iPad Or iPod touch.

Functions like taking a screenshot, which previously involved pressing the Home/Touch ID button and the Power/Lock button, still remains the same. Though the process of putting the device in DFU mode has changed, a guide on which can be found here:Enter DFU Mode On iPhone 7 Or iPhone 7 Plus, Here’s How.
