๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ โ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐?
Two months ago, I interviewed a candidate for a job.
Nothing more. Nothing less.
Fast forward to this week:
A loan company is calling me nonstop because that same candidate used my contact as a guarantor for a loan I knew nothing about.
Letโs be clear.
I did not: โ Approve the loan
โ Sign as a guarantor
โ Participate in spending the money
โ Refer the candidate for a loan
So why am I being hฤ
raลsed?
If a loan company has proper processes, shouldnโt they: โ Verify their customer properly?
โ Confirm consent from any guarantor?
โ Chรคsฤ their actual borrower when repayment faรญลs?
Why is HR being dragged into personal financial irresponsibility?
And to the candidate who casually added my name as a guarantor:
We are not family.
We are not friends.
I am not your financial safety net.
Recruitment is already demanding enough.
HR consultants/professionals are not emergency contacts for pแปแปr decisions.
Please, letโs draw the line.
HR consultants & professionals โ what safeguards do you put in place to protect yourself from sรฏtuatฤฑons like this?
