🚨 Newborn Feeding Alert: Pap Can Be Dangerous! 🚨
Even if you have reasons for not doing exclusive breastfeeding for six months, pap (ogi) should still be ruled out for newborns. You can give proper infant formula instead.
Yes, formulas might be expensive for some families, and there may be reasons why exclusive breastfeeding isn’t feasible. But pap is not a safe substitute for babies in their first six months.
I know some people will disagree. Some will say they gave their baby pap and “nothing happened” in fact, the baby even became chubby.
But being chubby does not always mean being healthy. Pap mainly fills the stomach; it does not provide complete nutrition and can expose babies to infections, diarrhea, choking, and other health risks.
I once came across a case where a baby’s food pipe got blocked after being given pap, leading to hospitalization. And just recently, I heard of another case where a baby developed kidney complications linked to improper feeding.
Please don’t say, “Our mothers did it and nothing happened.” Times are different. Health challenges, environmental factors, and disease patterns keep evolving. What worked before may not be safe today.
A baby’s first six months are delicate. The wrong feeding choice can lead to long-term health problems.
