1. Stop looking for the perfect job.
Look for the job that will teach you the skills you need next.
2. Your manager is not responsible for your career growth.
They can support you, but you own your development.
3. Being good at your job is not enough.
People need to know what you’re working on and the value you’re creating.
4. Not every piece of feedback is an attack.
Some feedback is simply information that can help you improve.
5. The most talented person doesn’t always get promoted.
Reliability, relationships, and business impact matter too.
6. Networking is not optional.
Most opportunities come through people who’ve seen your work firsthand. Be memorable in rooms, not just on paper.
7. You don’t have to love every task.
Sometimes growth comes from doing the unglamorous work well.
8. Your degree got you in the door.
What keeps you relevant is how much you keep learning after you graduate.
9. Being easy to work with is a career advantage.
Competence gets attention. Collaboration builds influence.
10. Don’t confuse being busy with being valuable.
Focus on outcomes, not just activity.

1. Your Work Evidence Bank
Create a habit of recording your wins, learnings, and results every week. When opportunity shows up, you won’t be scrambling for examples. You’ll already be prepared.
2. A Strong Professional Identity
Get clear on what you actually do well and how you add value. When people ask, “So what do you do?”, your answer should sound confident, focused, and memorable.
3. One Deliverable Every Month
Start something tangible monthly. A framework, presentation, case study, system, or content. Progress becomes obvious when you stop planning and start producing.
4. The Skill That Levels You Up
Pick the one skill that would immediately improve your confidence or income and work on it intentionally for 30 days. Growth loves focus.
5. Your Trend Awareness Habit
Stay informed by tracking a few credible voices or platforms in your field weekly. Knowing what’s changing helps you stay relevant and ahead of the curve.
6. A Personal Idea Bank
Capture insights, lessons, and thoughts as they come. This becomes your secret weapon for content, conversations, and clarity.
7. Intentional Relationship Building
Once a week, connect with someone you admire or want to learn from. No pressure. No pitching. Just meaningful connection.
8. Showing Your Work Consistently
Share your thinking, lessons, or experiences publicly. Visibility compounds faster than talent when done consistently.
9. A Career Direction Check-In
Use January to honestly assess where you are and where you want to be in the next few years. Drifting is easy. Direction is powerful.
10. A Growth Routine That Sticks
Build systems around learning, reflection, skill-building, and personal development. Motivation fades. Structure sustains progress.

In 2025, I started the habit of sharing my wins and losses at the end of each month. Somewhere along the line, I stopped. I’m not even sure why. But one thing is clear, I want to bring it back this year and be very intentional about it. Beyond storytelling, it helps with clarity, tracking progress, and doing business better.

So here’s a little flashback.

Recruitment:
Through Tife Ojo Consults, I successfully closed over 25 roles. I’m deeply grateful to God for the results, but if I’m being honest, I wish I had tracked the exact figures more diligently. Lesson noted and correcting that this year.

HR Consulting:
I supported about four businesses with HR consulting, and I’m genuinely proud of this. I’m looking forward to doing much more in 2026, with better documentation and structure.

Career Coaching:
This was a major highlight. I coached at least 60 people across both free and paid sessions. The feedback and testimonies were incredibly encouraging and constantly reminded me that God was truly involved in this journey. That alone kept me going.

Resume Revamp:
I worked with about 45 people here. Some were free sessions, many were paid, and every single one mattered. Knowing that these professionals now have stronger visibility and better chances in the job market makes me really happy.

Mentoring:
Phew. I trained a few people looking to go into recruitment/HR. It started as an experiment, but the feedback was so good that it confirmed something for me, I want to do this again, and I want to do it better. Some of them now work with me on a part-time basis. I’ve also mentored people within my close circle, and this year, I’m ready to be more structured and committed to it.

Building the business:
I worked with interns in 2025, but 2026 is about building a solid team. Tife Ojo Consults will be hiring at least two staff this year, and I’m genuinely excited about that growth.
