Co-Dev Hub paid a courtesy visit to Mal Rahama Monguno on Sunday for an engaging discussion on the future of agriculture in Borno State and the Northeast, with a focus on innovation, AgriTech, and smart farming solutions.

Creating Is One Thing. Protecting Is Another.

Our latest Creative Wednesday session explored an important side of creativity and innovation that is often overlooked: protecting what we create.

With Mugwa Bitrus Kambasha leading the session, participants explored practical perspectives around intellectual property, creative ownership, innovation, and digital assets, while sharing questions and experiences along the way. The session was a valuable reminder that as we encourage people to create, innovate, and build, we must also equip them with the knowledge to protect the value behind their ideas.

Across Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States, we are creating spaces where ideas, innovation and local voices can inspire peace, reconciliation and stronger communities.

Through TEDx across the BAY States, thinkers, innovators and community voices are sharing ideas worth spreading—ideas that challenge assumptions, rebuild trust and reimagine what is possible after years of conflict.

This Saturday, 29 August, the conversation moves to Damaturu, Yobe State, as TEDxDamaturu takes the stage under the theme “Recoupling”—exploring how communities can reconnect, heal and build new possibilities together.

From Maiduguri to Damaturu and onward to Jimeta, the journey of ideas continues.

This initiative is made possible with the support of the European Union in Nigeria and the UNDP in Nigeria , supporting community-led platforms that advance peace, innovation, reconciliation and social cohesion across the BAY States.

Co-Dev Hub had the opportunity to engage with the Borno State GSM Market Chairman, Alh. Aliko Das, and his team to explore areas of collaboration around youth development, technology, and innovation.

The engagement focused on how we can work together to create more opportunities for young people, promote innovation, and contribute to accelerating progress and development across Borno State.
