2025/2026 MATRICULATION CEREMONY NOTICE

This is to inform all newly admitted Candidates that the 2025/2026 Matriculation Ceremony has been slated to hold as follows:

📅 Date: Friday 27th February, 2026
⏲️ Time: 9: 00 am
🏫 Venue: Convocation Square, Main Campus.

Matriculating candidates are to note the following:

👉 Collection of Matriculation Gowns

Academic Gowns are to be collected at the offices of their respective Faculty Officers at no cost beginning from Tuesday, 24th February, 2026 and must be returned immediately after the ceremony.

👉 Procession

All matriculating students are to assemble outside the Convocation Square by 8:00 am prompt for procession by lining up behind their respective Faculty Officers in an alphabetical order as follows:

✅️ Faculty of Administration
✅️ Faculty of Allied Health Sciences
✅️ Faculty of Arts
✅️ Faculty of Communciation and Media Studies
✅️ Faculty of Education
✅️ Faculty of Environmental Science
✅️ Faculty of Law
✅️ Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences
✅️ Faculty of Social Sciences

📌 Note: Faculty of Agriculture and Engineering are to observe their matriculation ceremony at their various campuses as usual.

📌 For Faculty of Engineering they are to be seated by 9:00 am while
📌 Faculty of Agriculture, Lafia are to be seated by 11:00 am.

🎓Return of Matriculation Gowns

Note that all matriculation gowns MUST be returned to the Faculty Officers 24 hours after the matriculation exercise.

⚠️ Failure to return the gowns within the stipulated time will attract fine and / or penalty.

NSUK Senate Approves New Academic Programmes and Establishment of Department of Public Health

The Senate of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, at its 136th Regular Meeting held on Thursday 29th January 2026, has approved the introduction of new academic programmes across selected faculties, as part of the University’s deliberate effort to expand academic offerings and strengthen professional training.

Under the Department of Islam and Development Studies, Faculty of Arts, Senate approved the following postgraduate programmes:

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and Professional Master’s Degrees in:
✅️Mosque Management
✅️Islam and Security Studies
✅️Islam and Conflict Resolution
✅️Imaamship
✅️Applied Da’awa, Islamic Communication and Community Development

In the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences, Senate approved the establishment of the following undergraduate degree programmes:

✅️Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Islamic Economics and Finance
✅️Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Cooperative Economics and Management

In a related development, Senate also approved the establishment of a Department of Public Health, to be domiciled in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences.

Additionally, Senate approved the introduction of the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Public Health, to be housed within the newly established department.

These approvals reflect the University’s commitment to academic innovation, professional relevance, and responsive education that addresses contemporary societal needs.

In a strategic move to bolster the administrative and academic framework of the University, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman (Fellow; UNESCO, ACLS, FIIFPN, CBER), has approved a series of new appointments across various directorates, faculties, and departments.

The appointments, confirmed by the Registrar, Dr. Bala Isyaka Ahmed II, reflect the administration's commitment to excellence and its vision for a robust, 21st-century citadel of learning.

PRESS RELEASE

NSUK Management Approves One-Week Extension for Student Registration

The Core Management of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, at an emergency meeting held on Tuesday, 3rd February 2026, deliberated and resolved to extend the student registration period by one (1) week effective today Friday 6th February 2026.

This extension is intended to enable students who are yet to complete their registration to access the registration portal. The decision also seeks to accommodate students who are beneficiaries of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), thereby allowing them sufficient time to access their loans and proceed with registration.

The Director, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), is kindly requested to take note of this decision and act accordingly.
