Photos: Vertex Ventures Flags Off Street Naming Project

The Consultants commenced a street naming project in the council (Nasarawa) as one has been named after the first Osu Ajiri of Edege Chiefdom, late Malam Musa Akaki of blessed memory.

In a statement released by the MD/CEO Hon. Mu'awiyah Namama where he unveiled the first set of name, Musa Akaki Avenue; said the street named in the exercise of powers of the Council as enshrined in Section 7 and the 4th schedule of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, Local Government Act CAP 12, LFN 2004 will not only make it easy for identification of locations but will also be used to immortalize notable community members that have contributed to the development of their communities and local government in different ways.

The MD/CEO called on residents to submit names of deserving members of their communities who have contributed to its development to the council through a formal application process.

He explained that on receipt of the applications, the council will verify the information supplied by the applicants for further action.

Congratulations for the new development in Nasarawa.

HON. MOHAMMED SANI OTTO, THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, NASARAWA LOCAL GOVERNMENT, DAN AMANAN NASARAWA, BARAYAN UDEGE HAS TODAY BEEN THE 1ST OF NOVEMBER, 2022 FLAGGED OFF STREET NAMING AND HOUSE NUMBERING AT THE COUNCIL CHAMBER IN COLLABORATION WITH VERTEX VENTURES.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Vertex Ventures Hon. Mu'awiyah Salihu Namama made a presentation on the importance and the need why street naming and house numbering should be in place in Nasarawa; looking at the social-economic development of the town.

The Vertex Ventures team led by its MD/CEO Hon. Mu'awiyah Salihu Namama, to kick-started the project soon with the aim of making Nasarawa town's businesses and residential buildings easily identifiable. The scheme is also designed to provide a more secure environment within the town and increase the quality of life of all citizens.

Speaking during the flag off exercise, the council chairman expressed his joy for the idea come up by the consultants and assured the firm a full commitment and support toward achieving this great mission, and further stated that it has become necessary for the LGC to adjust from it analogue era to the digital world.

The council boss further said; the imperative of street naming and house numbering cannot be overemphasised as it will go a long way in the fight against insecurity in the LGC.

Street Naming and House numbering entails the allocation of a unique name to a street and number to structure with the intention of making it easier to locate particular area or structures.
