, as we celebrate World NGO Day, we join the global community in recognizing the incredible work of non-governmental organizations in building a more compassionate, just, and sustainable world.

NGO Day, officially observed every 27th of February, is recognized by bodies such as the United Nations and celebrated across continents to honor NGOs and the people behind them who dedicate their lives to service. It is a day to appreciate the silent heroes — the advocates, volunteers, partners, and donors — who work tirelessly to uplift humanity.

Distinguished partners, friends, and fellow change-makers,

-Governmental Organizations, popularly known as NGOs, serve as the bridge between the government and the grassroots. They identify needs where they are most urgent, respond swiftly to crises, advocate for human rights, promote education, empower women and youth, protect the environment, and bring hope to the most vulnerable in our communities.

In a world where inequality, poverty, injustice, and conflict still exist, NGOs stand as pillars of light. They are often the first to respond in times of disaster and the last to leave when rebuilding begins. They amplify the voices of the unheard and restore dignity to those society may have forgotten.

Here in Nigeria and across Africa, NGOs continue to play a critical role in nation-building. From supporting orphaned children to championing girl-child education, from promoting peace advocacy to advancing sustainable development goals, their impact is undeniable.

Today, I am proud to speak not only in celebration of NGOs worldwide but also in recognition of the commitment of the Olukayode Ariike Foundation in supporting NGO efforts and humanitarian causes.

Built on the principles of humanity, advocacy, and empowerment, the foundation actively collaborates with NGOs to strengthen their capacity and extend their reach. I am proud to be a Nigerian because this land has given me endless opportunities to dream, to grow, and to make impact. Nigeria is not just my country, she is the platform that has shaped my journey, challenged me to rise, and blessed me with the courage to keep moving forward.

ARIYIKE, This is another year of an incredible journey, and I take a moment to reflect on how far you've come.

You've conquered the unimaginable, faced challenges with grace, and emerged stronger each time. Without doubt, you’ve proven your resilience from time to time.

You're a woman of strength, determination, and unwavering commitment to your goals.

Today the heavens rejoice and the heart bears withness one of the best moments of my life i cherished every year 💯

Today I paused to give thanks for the little things, the big things and everything in between. Life moves fast but counting my blessings slows it down just enough to feel the joy in every moments.

Another year has been added to my journey in good health and endless happiness and I do not take it for granted. As I celebrate this new charter I lift my hands and voice in praises to God the giver of all things.

There were times I had nothing more than ₦1,000 to feed myself — and I’ve also had moments where I could spend ₦50,000 to eat out and spoil myself a little…

I’ve lived in a house full of food — and I’ve also experienced an empty kitchen…

I’ve walked into stores and cashed out without a second thought — and I’ve also had to count carefully, returning items to the shelf…

I’ve paid my bills in full — and I’ve had to delay payments too…

I’ve given money to others — and I’ve also had to humbly ask for help…

📌Life has its highs and lows, and while some may go through more than others, the truth is we’re all trying to make it.
No one is better than anyone else, and it saddens me to see people who believe they are❌

matter how big your house is, how new your car may be, or how fat your bank account looks — we all bleed red. And one day, we will all leave this earth.
Death does not discriminate — and neither should your life.

Some who claim to love you will let you stand alone in the storm — just so they can shine.
Be kind anyway, serve others.
