The Darkest Night of My Life…
It was exactly 2:17 a.m. when a loud crash jolted me awake. At first, I thought I was dreaming. Then I heard people shouting outside my compound. My heart immediately started racing. I rushed to the window, desperate to see what was happening, but the darkness swallowed everything. I couldn’t see a single person. Then I heard hurried footsteps… one after another… getting closer. Dogs were barking from every direction. Someone slammed a gate so hard the sound echoed through the entire street. Then… complete silence. The kind of silence that makes your mind imagine things your eyes can’t see. I stood frozen behind the curtain, barely breathing, listening for the next sound. Every second felt like a minute. Was someone hiding outside? Had they left? Or were they watching, waiting for the next opportunity? My phone suddenly vibrated, and I almost dropped it. It was a message from my neighbor: “Stay inside. Something just happened on our street.” My hands were shaking. I couldn’t sleep for the rest of the night. Every creak of the gate sounded like someone trying to get in. Every shadow outside the window looked like a person standing still. I kept wishing I could see what was happening instead of letting my imagination make it worse. That’s when I realized the scariest thing wasn’t the noise outside… it was not knowing. The very next morning, I installed the Naija solar Dual Lens Solar CCTV Camera. Now, whether I’m at home or miles away, I don’t have to stand behind a window hoping everything is okay. I can see what’s happening around my property in real time, right from my phone. Because sometimes, peace of mind begins the moment you stop guessing… and start watching.
