Position: A Legal Officer

We are looking for a highly qualified Legal Officer to oversee the legal aspects of a real estate firm.

JOB BRIEF.

The Legal officer is expected to safeguard the reputation of the company by guaranteeing that the company strictly follows law guidelines and give legal advice to management about all relevant issues.

The successful candidate will effectively ensure legal conformity and minimize probability of exposure.

RESPONSIBILITIES.

Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics such as Real estate, partnerships, investments, international ventures, corporate finance etc.

Collaborate with management to devise efficient defense strategies.

Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance.

Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.

Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advise on possible legal issues.

Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust.

Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights.

Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces.

Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization.

Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility.

Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

Proven experience as a Legal officer in business environment.

Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures.

Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation.

Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies.

High degree of professional ethics and integrity.

Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information.

Outstanding communication skills.

Qualification:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B),

- The Nigerian Law School, Bar Qualifying (B.L).

Experience: 1 - 3 years

1. Educational Background: The candidate should have at least OND, HND or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

2. Relevant Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least 1-2 years of experience working in a similar role, preferably in the real estate or property management sector.

3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) is essential for this role. The candidate should also have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

4. Analytical and Problem-solving Skills: The junior accountant should demonstrate the ability to analyze financial data, identify issues, and develop appropriate solutions. They must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

5. Attention to Detail and Accuracy: The candidate must be detail-oriented and possess a high level of accuracy in their work to ensure that financial records are maintained in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

We are looking for a skilled HR Officer who will recruit, support and develop talent through developing policies and managing procedures.

The candidate will be responsible for administrative tasks and will contribute to making the company a better place to work.

REQUIREMENTS.
Proven experience as HR officer, administrator or other HR position
Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)

Understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures.

Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HRMS is a plus.

Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude.

Strong ethics and reliability

BSc/BA in business administration, social studies or relevant field; further training will be a plus.

HR Credentials (e.g. PHR from the HR Certification Institute Or any CIPM Certification)
