Do you know why you don't have a productive day?
One of the reasons is that you sleep late.
During my time as an undergraduate, I was been taught about CONSOLIDATION.
What is the meaning of Consolidation? It means the process by which a temporary, labile memory is transformed into a more stable, long-lasting form and this happens during REM sleep.
You still want me to explain what REM sleep is π€£. In physiology, we call it Rapid Eye Movement sleep, and is a type of sleep that occurs at intervals during the night and is characterized by rapid eye movements, more dreaming and bodily movement, and faster pulse and breathing.
You can go and read more about sleep physiology, we have two types REM sleep and NON-REM sleep. That's all I can tell you now unless you want to pay me to teach you π€£π€·.
Now back to our discussion about consolidation, you know I said it happens during REM sleep, so tentatively, if you don't sleep very well automatically consolidation of your memory will not occur, and one of the effects is having an unproductive day.
During sleep your brain π§ helps you to clear all the bad energy which I can call toxins and they are very dangerous to your health. So if you are not sleeping well you're doing yourself great harm.
When the brain clears that toxin during sleep what happens? Clearing that toxin allows or enhances consolidation which allows connections between neurons (called synapses) to shrink to reduce or eliminate the memories you don't need thereby allowing the storage of the memory you want.
Have you ever noticed that when you wake up from sleep you want to remember what happened the other day but you do not remember anything this happens because you did not sleep well and if you did not sleep well consolidation will not occur and you tend to have a bad day or unproductive day.
And to the students who have been complaining that when I read l don't remember what I have read. That's because you have not been sleeping well, and if you're not sleeping well memory consolidation can not occur, it is during consolidation that your short-term memory is converted to long-term memory with the help of your hippocampus (Limbic System).
When consolidation of memory occurs hippocampus will be stimulated to start creating new memories for storage πππππππ
Please π don't ask me what is the limbic system Oooh, UNIOSUN charged me for that before they taught me, so I must charge you to explain further but Google is your friend π€£π€£π€£.
So if you want to have a good day or a productive day ahead sleep well. Even though you are a student who has exams write pls sleep well. It is not until you sleep well that you can be able to recall what you have read, so pls do me the favour of sleeping well. Because you won't like it when you go blank during exam π€£π€£π€£
Peace out βοΈ
