The first rule is to start with a plan! Just anyone can create a page or Instagram account and start posting about their businesses online. This doesn't mean it's going to be successful. It has to come from a place of strategy and know-how. You have to be deliberate and enact your plans.

Most people make the mistake of being all over the place across all platforms in view that they'll succeed by doing such. While being present across all social media platforms is good, it's better to be on one and super active than to be on all and don't know what you're doing. This isn't to say that having presence in all platforms is bad. Not at all! It simply means it's better to be super active in any platform you're.

Know what works for you. What's working for Mr A may not work for Mr B. Choose the ones that are right for your business. Know your audience and the best social media platforms with which to reach them.

Without a plan, you have no clear goal for what you’re trying to achieve. That means there’s no way to know if you’re getting a return on that investment or not. You don't want this. Nobody does!
