We are not a bank. We are not loan sharks. We are a cooperative which means members help members. Mainstream Micro Business Services Limited was actually incorporated under the Companies and Allied Matters Act 1990 as Ubanila Limited on the 29th of July, 2015 while we started operations on August 3rd, 2015. We took a bold step towards the actualization of our vision and Ubanila Limited was restruc
tured on August 3rd 2016, hence Mainstream Micro Business Services Limited. Our business is referred to as an “Alternative Financial Services Provider” That is an institution poised to continuously create access to financial services to the underbanked and unbanked (financially excluded) Nigerians not easily accessible through the traditional financial system but needed by them to increase and diversify their economic activities. this business is suitable in locations with very minimal or no presence of any financial institutions but has economic activities. After several research we decided to kick start it in Oyigbo L.G.A in Rivers State. Oyigbo L.G.A. has about 16 communities which includes Obigbo, Izuoma, Komkom, Obeama, Nmirinwanyi, Afam-Ukwu, Afam-Nta, Obeakpu, Obugwu, Umuoshi, Ngboji, Umuagbai, and all these communities are been served by the few Commercial Banks (First, Union, Zenith, Ecobank, FCMB, Access) and Midland Microfinance Bank located in Obigbo. People in all these other communities come down to Obigbo for their banking transactions. This could be time consuming, stressful, and much more risky.
