We just like to take a moment to say thank you for visiting our page and maybe for believing in the mission/vision of EFI. Our Approach:

We define “environmental issues”as conserving, protecting, restoring and/or advocating for the ecosystems upon which our civilization depends through research and education. We realized the need for young people to imbibe the right environmental attitude that must start from schools and believe that promoting children's participation in this sphere is about fulfilling their rights to be active citizens that can rise in defense of the environment; this we call bottom-top approach.

Women in Agritech | Organic Food | Food Security | Green Enterprise | Leadership
We are excited to launch the first cohort of She Leads Green, a Pan-African initiative of Green-Eco Innovative Solutions Limited (GeIS) created to empower young women to explore opportunities, build skills and take their place in the emerging green and agrifood economy.
Over two days, we will explore agritech, organic food, food security, green enterprise and women’s leadership, with a practical focus on helping participants identify pathways for careers, entrepreneurship and impact.

📢 The Hidden Cost of "Chemically Preserved" Food

This is exactly the gap our AMAC Home-Grown Organic Food Initiative is designed to close.

In collaboration with the AMAC Agricultural Department, GeIS is pioneering organic, chemical-free farming systems that give communities a safer alternative from the field to the table, not just at the point of sale. Through farmer mobilisation, organic production support and food-safety awareness, we are working to reduce reliance on unsafe preservation shortcuts and build a food system Abuja residents can trust.

Abuja is our pilot phase, and we are ambitiously working towards scaling this model across every region in Nigeria.

Safe food shouldn't be a privilege. It should be the standard.

Nigeria normalised mobile money.

Nigeria normalised gig work before the world had a name for it.
Nigeria can normalise green habits too. 🌿
We are a country that adapts faster than most people give us credit for. When something makes sense, when it solves a real problem, when enough people start doing it and it becomes visible, Nigeria moves. Quickly.
The green economy is not waiting for a perfect moment. It is waiting for enough of us to decide that sustainable choices are normal choices. That reusing is obvious. That clean energy is expected. That waste has value. That the environment is not someone else's responsibility.

The flooding devastating Abuja right now is not a weather event. It is a systems failure. 🌊
Wuse 2. Maitama. Lokogoma. Gudu. Mabushi. Some of Abuja's most developed districts are underwater and the question being asked across the FCT is the same one.
How did we get here. And who is responsible.
No single cause explains what we are seeing. This is the collision of climate change, infrastructural design choices that prioritised aesthetics over drainage, regulatory oversights that allowed structures onto natural waterways, and civic behaviours that have treated drainage channels as dumping grounds for years.
The FCTA is ordering demolitions. That is a start. But demolitions without a long-term structural plan are just visible action in the absence of visible solutions.
Abuja was a planned city. A city designed from scratch should not flood like this.

A climate action plan only means something once it leaves the page. For a business owner in Utako, a family in Kabusa, or a clinic in Jiwa, the energy transition isn't a distant policy conversation. It shows up in simple questions:

Is there reliable power to keep a shop or a livelihood running?
Is clean, safe cooking fuel within reach?
Are the streets lit and safe at night?

Under its Sustainable Energy Access and Climate Action Plan (SEACAP), AMAC has set a clear benchmark: a 25% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions against business-as-usual by 2030, anchored by a Stationary Energy Pillar built around decentralized solar, efficient lighting, and integrated waste management.

The target is the easy part. The harder questions are the ones that decide whether it becomes real:

Financing – how are these systems funded and sustained beyond installation?
Skills and jobs – who is trained to maintain them, and are young people in these communities part of that pipeline?
Equity – do rural and underserved wards get the same attention as central Abuja?
Accountability – how is impact actually measured and verified?
