You don’t speak just to be heard.
You speak to move direction, risk, growth, and outcomes.
That is the difference between presence and power.
Many people talk often, yet move nothing.
Meetings end. Conversations happen. Noise is made.
But direction remains unchanged.
Power is not volume.
Power is impact.
When influential people speak, three things shift:
Decisions ✅
Resources ✅
Accountability ✅
Words become levers.
This is why voice must be:
Informed i.e grounded in understanding, not opinion
Positioned; aligned with authority, context, and intent
Timed; delivered when it can alter the course, not after the fact
Speaking without positioning is noise.
Silence without clarity is fear.
True leadership sits in the tension between knowing when to speak and what your words will move.
If your voice does not change direction, manage risk, unlock growth, or shape outcomes, then you are not using it strategically, you are just participating.
And participation is not power.
Develop the discipline to speak with intention.
Because in rooms that matter, words are not expressions; they are instruments.
