This word “mindset” gets thrown around a lot and at first, I kind of rolled my eyes about how much everyone was talking about it. But, the deeper I get into growing my online business, the more I’ve come to realize that mindset is everything! You can have the best skillset in the world, but if your mindset stinks, so will your online business.

If you are new to the online business space let me clue you in on why you are going to hear this a LOT.

Building an online business may look easy from the outside, but I’m here to tell you that this is hard work. This will be one of the hardest things you’ll ever do. You are going to want to quit, you are going to question why you started, you are going to feel lonely and isolated at times and you are going to feel like no one understands what you’re doing. You are going to be faced with the choice every day to show up or quit.

You can retrain your brain and mindset to work for you, not against you! Stepping outside of your box every day is going to be your new normal, learning, growing, and doing is going to be what your mind gets used to.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰:

If you start your online business with the expectation that you are going to be wildly successful in a matter of weeks, you will set yourself up for some major disappointment.

𝟐. 𝐍𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨

NO ONE. Not your significant other, parents, siblings or friends. You must not take this personally. This is your journey, not theirs. You are going to work really hard towards something that perhaps many of those closest to you won’t really understand. I want you to know that this is normal, and perfectly okay.

𝟑. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬

No, I’m not talking about ditching your old friends, but you do need to get into a group of people that are all striving towards the same thing.

This could look like joining Facebook groups, masterminds, hiring a business coach, or finding an accountability partner. This is life to your business and your mind. Do not underestimate what can happen to your mindset when you surround yourself with others who want the same thing as you do.

𝟒. 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

This is huge, and personally what helped me to gain the mindset that propelled me forward in my business. Start feeding your brain with self-development podcasts, books, and webinars. The power of surrounding yourself with other online business gurus that have been there and done that is instrumental for your success.

𝐊𝐄𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄: I know that was a little heavy, but I want to be honest with you, although this all may seem unattainable from where you are sitting, it most certainly is not! You can achieve the same level of success as those you aspire to. You can do anything you set your mind to, you can build an online business and you can succeed!

You become what you consume so make sure you consume as much as possible the things that will help you become a better version of yourself.

Your brain’s a funny old thing. In fact, experts estimate that you think between 6,000 and 8,000 thoughts a day.

So it goes without saying that if you’re carrying those thoughts with you all day they’re going to impact the choices you make, how you solve problems and how you feel.

So do yourself a favour and develop a habit of emptying your brain of those thoughts twice a day.

You can see it as journaling or just writing notes. Either way, spend a few minutes in the morning writing down absolutely everything that’s going on in your mind, then close your notepad and get on with your day.

Do the same in the evening, preferably before you start to relax and you’ll be able to sleep better without so many thoughts rattling around in your mind.

By doing this you’ll not only be able to leave unwelcome thoughts behind but you’ll start to problem-solve and analyze your thoughts better with practice.

𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭

When your business is your priority it’s hard to realize when to take a break, to relax or unwind, after all, there’s always more to do.
But this is precisely what you should do if you want your business to thrive.

After all, if your business is reliant on you, then you need to be on top form rather than a tired and overworked mess.

So make sure when you finish work for the day and you’re done consuming the things that inspire you and lift you up, you do something truly relaxing that has absolutely nothing to do with work.

Average Order Value (AOV) is the average amount of net profit that each customer is predicted to contribute to a business over the entire length of the relationship.
