MODESTY OR BADDIE!
Since the engagement of Moses Bliss/ Marie Wiseborne and the wedding party of popular Actor Kunle/Tiwi, the Internet has been buzzing on the acclaimed decency of the two ladies. A lot of netizens have been doing everything possible to prove that the ladies are baddies (not innocent or decent) .
Well, this is what I have to say:
Modesty is still a game changer, in my own opinion. If a man wants to flirt, they look out for ladies that look like a flirt. It's only in the cause of the games that the guy may begin to see other good qualities that "MAY" make him consider settling down with the baddie in question.
On the other hand, if a man wants to settle down, he looks for ladies that are modest/decent (look like wife material first). In the cause of getting to know the lady , he "MAY" see some bad attributes that may turn him off. But you know the funny thing, when men meet such ladies, they rarely waste time dating, they usually feel that they have won a jackpot. That's the difference.
At other times, in the cause of getting to know the decent wife material, the man "MAY" get to see a bit of baddie in her that would tell him that "ahhh, she is a good girl but I can see that she will also be good in the oza room. Men like that. Even pastors. (Ask them, you will find out.)
In all of this, what does the Bible say?
1 Timothy 2 vs 9
And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes.
Modesty is important because it allows us to focus on the things that are truly important, and it helps us to treat each other with respect. Being modest in our dress, speech, and behaviour focuses our attention on honouring God instead of seeking the approval of others.
