You see this baking business ehh, you need to be very strong 😭😂.

For days now, sales have been very low, and I haven't been getting a lot of customers. So yesterday, somebody reached out to me that they needed a cake.

Honestly, I was so thankful 🥹 because even though my views have been low, somebody actually saw my page and wanted to patronize me.

I asked for the person's budget.

She said ₦5,000.

I said, “Okay, if ₦5,000 is your budget, I have a foil cake for ₦5,000 for you.”

Everybody was okay… or so I thought 😭😂.

After some minutes, she came back, and I explained that the ₦5,000 foil cake would have no icing and no writing. Just a simple foil cake.

She said no oo.The cake she wanted had to have icing and a write up.

I asked her again, “Okay, how much is your budget?”

My sister said ₦5,000 .

My people, ₦5,000 for a size 7, two-layer cake with icing and a write up?

OMO .

Even if the country is hard, please fear God small na 😭🤲🏽.

I sent her my price list and explained that my smallest decorated cake starts from ₦15,000.

She said she didn't have money.

And I understood. No problem at all.

But when I told her to send me the cake design she had in mind…

Omo .

Let's just say that the cake inspiration and the ₦5,000 budget were not in the same WhatsApp group 😂😂😂.

I know the country is hard, but please, let's not make things harder for ourselves . Cakes involve ingredients, gas, electricity, packaging, time, transportation, and skill. The cake no go bake itself .

Anyways, this is just Episode 1, because the encounters I have had as a baker deserve their own series 😂.
