FROM SKILLS TO SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS: A LOOK BACK AT OUR CLEAN ENERGY TRAINING
In 2024, Yolde Pate Charcoal, in partnership with Mercy Corps' Adamawa State Office, implemented a clean energy training under the COMITAS Project, supporting communities affected by farmer-herder conflicts with practical skills and livelihood opportunities.
As part of the project, participants received training on charcoal briquette production and the use of a manual briquette-making machine.
But this wasn’t just classroom learning.
It was hands-on. Participants learned, practised, and produced.
The goal was to equip participants with practical skills they could use to explore clean energy, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods, while promoting alternatives to traditional charcoal and firewood.
