I had wanted this Montblanc Agatha Christie for a very long time. I still remember watching Attila videos, completely fascinated as he wrote with it, and seeing that incredible snake-shaped nib for the first time. I wanted it badly, but I wasn’t in a position to afford it until much later. Today, it’s a pen I truly cherish.

For me, books are much more than something to read or learn from. They’re not just a way to explore new ideas or see the world through someone else’s eyes. More often, they become a place where I capture my own thoughts—not by copying passages word for word, but by writing down what those ideas make me think and feel.

By the way, I highly recommend 100 Whites. It’s a fascinating book that makes you realize that white isn’t just white. There are endless shades, tones, and subtleties hiding in what most people would call the same color.

A pocket pen? For me, the ideal one is the Janzanderdesign Cocoon, because it’s essentially a pen with a case and a case with a pen. :)

Cleaning the Montblanc Traveler 149 is probably the most enjoyable pen-cleaning experience you can have. I could clean it every day. It’s not really about getting the pen clean—it’s about the process, the ritual, and taking the time to slow down and do it properly.

How flexible are Pilot nibs really? Pilot nibs are beautifully soft, and that softness can easily tempt you into treating them like flex nibs. However, their flexibility is just about right. When you apply a bit of pressure, the tines will spread slightly, but the nib clearly lets you know: I am not a flex nib.

Still, take a look at how wonderfully soft these nibs are and how much line variation they allow before reaching their limit. They offer a unique writing experience that is hard not to enjoy.

That said, let’s not forget the Pilot Falcon nib, which is genuinely impressively flexible. Unfortunately, I don’t own a Falcon yet, but I had the chance to write with one once, and it was on a completely different level. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever experienced a nib with greater flexibility. It was an absolute joy to write with.

I never expected that I would one day own this pen. I have a special connection to Chamonix, and owning the Montblanc Olympic Chamonix Solitaire is a great honor and something deeply sentimental to me.

I now have this version as well as the Doué, which I’ve decided to sell or trade if anyone is interested, because I no longer need it now that I have this one.

I wasn’t a fan of red fountain pens at first, but that changed the moment I held a Vermilion pen in my hands for the first time. Looking back, it’s actually an incredibly versatile color. A man doesn’t have to feel self-conscious using it, while at the same time it’s a perfect choice for women—even when the pen itself is larger and thicker. The Pilot Custom 845 is a perfect example of that.

What does a true fountain pen collector carry in their wallet? A pen? It won’t fit. Stickers? Definitely not. It’s always some kind of paper — a small scrap, a receipt, a note card, anything that’s instantly ready when you need to write down a thought, a phone number, an idea, or a reminder.

Do you carry your own little “scrap of paper” too?

By the way, I recently got this beautiful new wallet from .1582 . It’s made of leather and, surprisingly, decorated with genuine Urushi lacquer. Not just on fountain pens anymore, but on a wallet as well. Ah, how I love Japan. 🇯🇵
