Lemon’s foundation is shaped by the vision of Creative Director Kevin Frankental. With a love for design history, Kevin draws inspiration from historic design, film, and art, focusing on uncovering what makes a piece truly timeless.

“There’s often a tendency to romanticize the past, which I believe drives today’s nostalgia,” he explains. “While not everything was better before, certain classics s

tand the test of time and resonate across generations.”

In a world increasingly marked by a sense of sameness in fashion, beauty, and design, Lemon turns away from trends. “We have no interest in looking at what’s new for inspiration; doing so often results in just another version of something that already exists,” Kevin reflects. Lemon’s creative process involves delving into archives—historical design, film, art, fashion, or anything that sparks inspiration. From these influences, Lemon creates pieces that serve as a contemporary nod to the past. Each item is thoughtfully designed to be useful and needed, often inspired by items they would love to own but cannot find elsewhere. The result is elegantly simple pieces designed for everyday use and admiration. Each creation evokes nostalgia and romance while staying true to traditional craftsmanship, fitting seamlessly into contemporary spaces. Working in collaboration with designers from Kevin’s native South Africa and beyond, Lemon ensures each piece finds its own unique place.

The Winston server is inspired by the work of Franca Helg, an Italian designer and architect who collaborated with Franco Albini from 1945 through 1977 and in 1959 designed the Olivetti showroom in Paris - a great source of inspiration. The Winston server’s fine craftsmanship pays homage to her.

Neatly proportioned with exceptional detailing, the Constant nightstand is your perfect bedside partner. In our furniture making, the idea is to create special pieces that you can build a space around, whose designs highlight rather than overshadow the surface itself. As a result, simple lines that demonstrate craft are one of our core considerations. With the Constant, designer Yaniv Chen set out to highlight the beauty of Iroko wood. A beautiful West African wood that has a honey-coloured hue and darkens gracefully with time.
