Product development is a process of risk management, where test and verification are key activities.

At MMID we continuously test models in all different design stages to verify the working mechanism. For example duration tests, where we simulate a life cycle of a product and check whether wear and tear will have an influence on the functionality of the product. And apart from this it also gives a lot of insights for the final optimisation of the product before it is production-ready.

Based on the , greenhouse gas emissions of the Netherlands must be reduced to 49% of current levels by 2030. 🏡 By 2050, emissions levels will be reduced to 95% of current levels. In the Netherlands, gas-heated homes produce 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions so more sustainable home temperature control solutions are needed to help meet the targeted reductions. ♨️

HAN University of Applied Sciences /Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen (HAN) is working with MMID to develop a new affordable heat pump concept for the typical Dutch home in a project called HP-Launch. When completed in 2020, it will be the result of a six-way between stakeholders including Re/gent, Business Development Holland b.v., and De Haagse Hogeschool.

MMID’s solution is a small yet highly efficient heat pump that can be internally mounted in the roof thereby reducing installation and maintenance costs without interfering with the external appearance of the home. 🏠

We have been working with Hemovent GmbH on this heart-lung device for two years now. It has been an exciting process with several parties involved, and by having weekly meetings we made sure went smoothly. One of the challenges of this project was to develop an that will be understood in emergency circumstances. 🚑

Hemovent is in the final stage of approval for the MOBYBOX™ and the device is being optimized for various circumstances outside the hospital in the near future.
