In September 2012 at the literature festival Kapittel in Stavanger I was honored to interpret for the wonderful and brave writer Svetlana Alexievich. She is a humble intelligent woman, it was an absolute pleasure to interpret for her and show her around Stavanger. She later sent me a signed copy of her book.
And today I found out that she had won the 2015 Nobel Prize in Literature.
I congratulate her with this well-deserved outstanding achievement!

Is it possible that the Nobel committee might finally reverse the ignoble treatment of what we call “nonfiction writing” and admit that it is literature?
