"Good feeling about this one." That's how most crew hires still get made.

A senior officer looks the part. The CV reads well. The hiring manager goes with the gut and hopes the certificates line up later. Sound familiar?

On CrewBook, that feeling now has a number. Every application lands in your inbox with a 0–100 match score, built from the exact posting in front of you: certificates, sector background, sea time, availability.

A 92 is a 92 for a reason. A 47 tells you the BOSIET expired or the sector doesn't fit, before you waste a call. The right person rises to the top of the pile instead of the first person to hit send.

Same standards you'd apply by hand. Quantified, the moment they apply. Works the same across offshore, maritime, sailing and yachting.

Three in four seafarers now look for work online before they ever call an agency. That's straight from the ITF's 2022 survey, and the shift has only picked up speed since.

A few numbers worth a moment:

⚓ 74% of seafarers start their job search online (ITF, 2022)
📈 3x growth in direct employer-to-crew digital contact since 2019 (Crew Connect Global)
🤝 68% of maritime employers now prefer direct applications over agency referrals (McKinsey, 2023)

The agency-first model made sense when crew and employers had no easy way to find each other. That moment has passed.

Crew want to see the vessel, the rotation, the rate. Employers want to see the certifications, the sea time, the availability. Both want to skip the commission and the waiting around.

That's what we built CrewBook for. Direct contact between employers and crew. No middlemen, no booking fees. The way crew actually find work today 🚢

You know that feeling when applications start rolling in and you're staring at a stack of CVs, wondering where to even begin?

On CrewBook, that stack arrives already sorted. Every applicant gets a match score from 0 to 100, so you see who fits before you open a single CV.

The score is built from what you actually need: the role you posted, the sectors you selected, the certificates required, and the experience logged in each profile. No guesswork.

Shortlisting that used to eat a full morning now takes minutes. No agency in the middle. No booking fees. Just a ranked list and direct contact with the right person for your vessel.

Picture a €5,000 maritime contract. Up to €1,250 of that can disappear into agency commission. Paid by the employer, absorbed by the crew, or quietly split between both.

And that's still the "safe" route most of the industry defaults to.

Here's how it looks on CrewBook instead: an employer pays €50 to post a job and €10/month for access. Crew pays €2/month. No booking fee. No success fee. No cut when the contract starts.

The money that used to fund a middleman stays where it belongs. In the deal, between the two people who actually need each other ⚓

Would you rather pay a percentage, or keep it in the contract? Swipe through the numbers and tell us what you think.

A deckhand with a plain CV can outrank a master mariner with a polished one. On CrewBook, employers see a ranked list before they open a single CV.

Every applicant gets a 0–100 match score the moment they apply. It reads your certificates, sector experience, listed roles, and availability against the exact job posting. The CV sits underneath the number, not above it.

So the real competitive edge is profile completeness, not prose. Add every certificate you hold, even the expired ones. Set an availability window that lines up with the start date. Two fields move your score more than any cover message ever will.

The crew who get contacted aren't always the most experienced. They're the best matched.
