It is our distinct pleasure to introduce Suresh Pandit, the new Executive Director of Simex Hub. A seasoned professional with a decade-long experience with United Nations and other organizations, Mr. Pandit brings a wealth of experience in disaster preparedness and response capacity building to his role.
Mr. Pandit played a pivotal senior-level role in the UN's response to the Nepal Earthquake in 2015, showcasing his commitment and leadership during critical times. Throughout his distinguished career, he has been instrumental in conducting numerous simulation exercises, training programs, and testing emergency response plans at various administrative levels. His efforts have significantly contributed to the institutionalization of disaster preparedness and contingency planning systems in Surdurpaschim, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
As a collaborative leader, Mr. Pandit has closely worked with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Singha Durbar , the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and other humanitarian partners. His leadership has spearheaded the establishment of emergency operation centers, clusters, and government capacity-building initiatives through an extensive number of SIMeX and TTXs.
Amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Suresh Pandit provided invaluable advisory services to the Ministry of Health and Population , actively contributing to AIN's Policy Working Group and accelerating a coordinated response. He had a leadership position in a US-based INGO and serves as a representative of the International
Mr. Pandit's multifaceted leadership underscores his unwavering commitment to enhancing disaster preparedness, response capabilities, and fostering collaborative efforts in the face of crises.
