Shreemad Bhagavata Purana is one of the most significant Mahapuranas in Hinduism, consisting of 18,000 verses and 12 Cantos. Authored by Maharishi Ved Vyas, this scripture describes the 24 avatars of Lord Vishnu, with the 10th Canto—which details the childhood pastimes and glory of Lord Krishna—holding special importance. This narrative, recited by Shukadeva Goswami to King Pariksh*t over seven days, presents 'Bhakti' (devotion) as a simpler path to salvation than knowledge or detachment. It is considered the ripe, succulent fruit of the Vedic wish-fulfilling tree; it is believed that listening to or studying it brings peace of mind, spiritual awakening, and liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
A scene of a video where melodious bhajans and collective kirtans, performed during intervals of the narration, immerse all the devotees present in the pavilion (pandal) with the essence of devotion (Bhakti-rasa).
