👥 Meet The Team – Lachie & Will White 👦🏻👦🏻

The youngest members of the White Racing team, Lachie and Will, are already a big part of stable life.

Often seen donning their mini silks, feeding the horses carrots, or hanging out in their play area at the stables, the boys are never far away from the action.

While they’re still a bit young to be much help just yet, they’re always keen to lend a hand, whether that’s attempting to clean gear or sulkies, or helping out at feed up.

Growing up surrounded by horses, they are quickly developing a love for the sport, just like the generations before them.

They might be small now, but they’re very much part of the team and the future of White Racing.

We weren’t initially planning on purchasing a weanling this year, but after spotting some we really liked at Woodlands Stud NZ, we came away from tonight’s NZB Standardbred Online gavelhouse.com Standardbred Weanling sale with what was probably our favourite of them all… and no surprise, it’s a trotter!

He is bred on the same cross as our dual Group 1 winner Bet N Win and hails from one of the most prominent trotting families in Australasia, and one that has produced quality performers time and time again.

He’s a lovely c**t with plenty of character and presence and we are excited to see what he develops into.

We’ll be offering a limited number of shares in him, so if you’d like more information or are interested in getting involved, feel free to get in touch:

OUR HARMONY 💚

This daughter of Bettor’s Delight joined us around a month ago after making the trip down from the North Island and has settled in well since arriving.

Owned by Woodlands Stud and the Woodlands Partnership No.3 Syndicate, Harmony’s a lovely strong mare and we’re looking forward to getting to know her better over the coming months.

We’re grateful to her connections for the opportunity and can’t wait to see what lies ahead with this exciting addition to the team.

✨ ‘JOSIE’ ✨

The last of our 2026 NZB Standardbred Yearling Sales breaking-in graduates is this standout filly by exciting young trotting sire Ecurie D and out of a sister to champion trotter Callmethebreeze.

We’re still pinching ourselves that we get to train her and she was an absolute pleasure to break in.

She’s the second we’ve had by this exciting European sire from YDF Stallions, and so far they have both impressed us with their attitude and natural ability.

Josie now heads out for a well-earned spell and we’re already looking forward to welcoming her back into the barn for her next preparation 🐎

👥 Meet The Team – Stacey White 🇳🇿

A key part of the day-to-day running of the stable, Stacey plays an integral role both behind the scenes and on the ground.

From managing communications and owners, to stable organisation and helping wherever needed, Stacey is involved in all aspects of the operation and helps keep everything ticking over.

Outside of the stable, Stacey works at Woodlands Stud, one of the leading breeding operations in the industry. She also juggles motherhood with our two young boys - sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day!

She steps in to drive trackwork when needed and enjoys the thrill of sitting behind them, as long as they are on their best behaviour and preferably when the weather isn’t too bad.

With a strong passion for the industry and a genuine love for the horses, she takes great pride in their care and development and is often seen with a massage gun, brush, or carrots in hand.

Stacey also plays a big role in sharing our story, keeping owners and supporters up to date and bringing people along for the ride.

👥 Meet The Team – David White 🇦🇺

The driving force behind our team, David is a true all-round horseman. Trainer, driver, farrier, handyman, whatever needs doing at the stables, he’s usually the one getting it done.

With over 150 driving wins across New Zealand and Australia, his experience is trans-Tasman. Originally from Temora, NSW, David comes from a strong harness racing family and with generations involved in the sport it’s always been in his blood.

He learnt much of his craft from his uncle Trevor White, alongside many of his successful cousins including Cam Hart and Chris Judd, before gaining further experience with some of the industry’s leading stables on both sides of the Tasman.

He was also formerly a full-time farrier and having those skills on hand 24/7 is a huge asset to our small team.

He has a great eye for a nice horse and often says the yearling sale is like Christmas for him. He loves working with the young horses and seeing them progress through to becoming racehorses.

David is known for his attention to detail and hands-on approach, placing a strong emphasis on early education, continuous learning, and doing the little things right - a philosophy that underpins everything we do.

That mindset has already helped deliver multiple Group 1 successes on the big stage, including a Queensland Derby and a Rowe Cup, which are both career highlights and proud moments for our small family team.

Where’s Bet N Win?

Well he’s right back where it all started, enjoying some R&R at his birthplace Breckon Farms.

It’s not the preparation we had planned, and it means he won’t get the chance to defend his Rowe Cup crown this season. But one thing will never change for us, the horse always comes first.

When Kenny wasn’t performing to his usual standard, that was his way of telling us something wasn’t quite right. So we listened.

He’s now having a decent spell, giving him the time he needs to reset and recover. We’re hopeful that with patience and care, he can come back and compete at the high level we know he’s capable of.

Because at the end of the day, our job is always about doing what is right by the horse 💙

Thanks to Nigel and the team at Breckon Farms for treating him like a King, even upgrading him to the penthouse paddock with water views for his stay! 😉
