πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ New Zealand Immigration – New Announcement

πŸ”΄ Red List (Excluded Occupations)
β€’ Jobs on the Red List cannot use the new residence pathways (like the Skilled Work Experience pathway or Trades & Technician pathway).
β€’ This means you cannot get residence through these new pathways if your job is on the Red List.
β€’ However, you may still qualify for residence through other options, such as:
o Having a Bachelor’s degree or higher
o Earning very high salary
o Having professional registration.
o SMC category
πŸ‘‰ In simple terms:
Red List = excluded from the new residence pathways.

🟠 Amber List (Extra Conditions)
β€’ Jobs on the Amber List are still eligible, but extra requirements apply.
β€’ These occupations:
o Can use the Skilled Work Experience pathway, but
o Cannot use the Trades & Technician pathway.
πŸ‘‰ In simple terms:
Amber List = allowed, but with stricter eligibility rules.

πŸ“£ Attention all international students in New Zealand! πŸŽ“

Starting 3 November 2025, major updates to student visa work rights will come into effect:

β€’ If you currently hold a student visa with a 20-hour limit and want to upgrade to 25 hours, you will need to apply for a variation of conditions or a new student visa β€” it’s not automatic.
