🧨 We've received further clarification from INZ on new residence rules (which start on 24th August) but it's so complex that I will take some time to figure out how to break it down in simpler words for those on this page. Keep an eye 👀 on the posts.

⚠️ But many of us advisers were talking amongst ourselves and chances of getting self-assessment wrong is almost as high as 90%, we don't even think immigration officers will get it right atleast at the start. 🤦🏻‍♀️

🤯 These have to be the most complex residence rules ever released in history of NZ Residence! ☠️

How great is this for Parent Resident Visa?

90% will now be processed in queue order, and only 10% will be done through ballot system. Overall, the total approved (each parent counts as one) still remains at 2500 annually.
✅ Next draw 11 August 2026 under current rules
✅ First draw 10 November 2026 under new rules

Hepatitis B & C are removed from the list of high-cost health conditions. This doesn't mean that those with Hepatitis B/C will meet Acceptable Standard of Health. It simply means each case will be assessed by INZ based on its own merits. No automatic exclusion will apply.
