Clipping the cables from your solar panels isnt about making things look tidy, it’s a critical step in the process for safety and system longevity.

Dangling wires rub against sharp metal frames and rough roofs which over time friction cuts the insulation and causes dangerous ground faults.🔥

Roof surfaces get scorching hot in NZ summer, especially black ones like this. Clipping cables keeps them suspended in the air, preventing them from melting on hot tiles or metal sheets.💨

Take a look under your panels next time you get a chance. If you see sagging wires, it is time to get them clipped! 🛠️

⚠️ Marlborough Red Weather Warning, Battery Owners ⚠️

With Marlborough currently under a red weather warning, we strongly recommend solar battery owners manually force charge their batteries so they have as much stored energy available as possible if the power goes out.

If you have a backup-enabled battery system, this gives your home the best chance of keeping essential circuits running during an outage.

Please jump into your battery app and set your system to charge from the grid / force charge / storm mode if available.

A few quick reminders:

- Avoid unnecessary high-load appliances during an outage
- If the power does go out, use stored battery power wisely
