Last week at Tag Circle, Andrew Limbe of Plant Based Scape showed us how thoughtful design, using native plants suited to Canterbury’s conditions, can create outdoor spaces that are beautiful, resilient, and genuinely good for local biodiversity.

Plant Based Scape is proof that small businesses built around a clear purpose can really find their footing.

Tag Circle is a fortnightly peer group for small business owners. We meet fortnightly on Wednesday mornings at the Richmond Club here in Christchurch.
If your business is in its early days, and you’d love to be part of a room full of people who get it... come along.

Kia ora! 🎨 What a great morning we had! Our very own Rachael from Sew Far Sew Good NZ blew us away with her presentation on creativity... we were handed several lumps of play-dough to encourage the inner child to come out.
The results? A black cat, a gnome, a ladybird, a race car, and things we're still trying to identify. No judgement. That was literally the whole point. 😄
Rachael's message was simple: creativity isn't a competition, it's a practice. Be curious. Be brave. Be audacious. And if you're really stuck... write down everything that's ever made you beam with happiness, and do more of that.

We left inspired, and genuinely thinking about what we enjoyed when we were 10.

Highly recommend the experience.
Thanks Rachael Okey that was unmissable. 💜

Yesterday at Tag Circle Collab - https://tagcircle.nz/, Diane Sowerby delivered an insightful presentation that really got us thinking about how we move.

THE MESSAGE?
"You can't do what you want till you know what you're doing."

Diane uses The Feldenkrais Method as the foundation for all movement…and for life. Slowing down to notice how you move is where transformation begins.

Group lessons Amazing Movement explore movement habits gently, within your own range and pace.

Private sessions address your specific needs one-to-one.
* Reclaim control of your thinking, feeling & acting
* Recognise tension before it becomes pain
* Move more efficiently…do more with less effort
* Free up energy to live life your way

Most people arrive after years of frustration with a chronic issue. Rather than fixing a problem, Diane supports your system to rearrange itself, habits shift, and new possibilities open.

It's like freeing your superpower and giving your weakness space to grow. 💚

Thank you Diane Sowerby

What if the biggest shifts in your industry aren’t sudden at all?
What if they’ve been forming quietly while we were busy reacting?

This week at Tag Circle Collab, Wendy Folau of Folau Futures introduced us to Pattern Intelligence™, and it genuinely shifted the room.

Three insights stayed with me:
* The pattern was there. We just didn’t notice it early enough.
* AI can detect patterns at scale.
* But context, judgement, and human interpretation decide what they actually mean.

That's the part many businesses miss.

We gather information.
We respond to what's happening.
We talk about change.

But we don’t always pause and ask: What pattern is forming here, and what does it signal for our next move?

If you’re navigating change in your industry, this 5-minute briefing is well worth your time:

Property management is pumping in Christchurch right now!

This week at Tag Circle... Mark Smith from Property Scouts
👉 https://www.propertyscouts.co.nz/locations/chch-metro, shares what’s really shifting in the local rental market.

From new pet laws to shifting demand, Mark unpacks what landlords and renters are facing now.

For well-managed rental accommodation that works for landlords and renters alike, Mark is a pro.

Lately, I’ve been noticing some quiet shifts across different industries, especially when I pause long enough to reflect.

Things like:
* Clients asking more specific questions earlier on
* AI quietly creeping into the workflow, often without us being fully conscious of it
* Industry specific changes that only really become visible once you’re deep in the work

None of these are dramatic on their own. But together, they start to form patterns.

This is the kind of conversation we’re leaning into at our next Tag Circle collab. Nothing formal or heavy, just sharing one small observation from your world and seeing what we can learn from each other.

If anything has caught your attention recently, you’re very welcome to bring it along 💛
