Probably the most interesting project ATP has had, was to analyse design and implement abetter shift schedule system, for 150 salt pan mine workers in Botswana.
Problem areas from the analysis:
- many workers did not speak English
- most workers lived about 400km from their mine accommodation
- they only had twoday weekends (Caught a bus, arrived home, kissed their wives and the caught the bus back to the mine.

Taking all issues into account and offering them 4 solutions, each with an african animal name, they had to vote for their choice. 2Two workers did not want to vote- the rest all voted for a hybrid schedule , named "Elephant". A very satisfactory result. Individual , company, and health and safety issues were all satisfactorily balanced.
