🚨 Awakino Gorge Closed Again – 9 June 2026 🚨
Please share this update with anyone travelling north or south on SH3.
The Awakino Gorge is about to be closed again today. While the cause has not yet been officially confirmed, it is believed a slip has occurred high above the road, creating a potential safety risk. (Hence why I am sharing as early as can be done to prevent any possible harm)
Closing at 6pm.
If you are planning travel through the area, please check the NZTA Journey Planner for the latest road status, detours, and expected reopening times before you leave.

Please allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes where possible.

Congratulations to Evera Upton for guessing the closest number of spark plugs in the jar!
Evera's guess was 227, and the correct number was 229 — just 2 spark plugs away! 🔧
Thanks to everyone who entered the competition, and well done to Evera on the winning guess! 👏🏆

A bit of cheeky humour - but material choice, print quality, laminates, and installation methods really do make a difference to how long signage lasts.

The lifeblood of Taranaki Region đź’§

This incredible image shows just how vast and connected our river and stream network is here in Taranaki. Flowing from the slopes of Mount Taranaki all the way to the coast, these waterways are the backbone of our landscape.

Over the past few decades, there’s been some seriously good work done across the region to protect and restore these catchments 👏
One of the biggest changes? Planting along our waterways.

🌱 Shading streams helps to:
Keep water temperatures cooler
Improve water quality
Support healthier ecosystems for fish and wildlife

🍂 And right now is the perfect time to get plants in the ground.
Autumn and winter are nature’s best planting seasons—giving plants the chance to establish strong root systems before the dry heat of summer rolls back around.

We’re proud to have played a small part in that journey—growing quality plants right here in Taranaki, using locally sourced seed where possible, and supplying projects that are making a real difference on the ground.

It’s awesome to see the impact of collective effort over time. Every plant in the ground is a step toward stronger, healthier waterways 🌏

👉 Planning a planting project this season? Get in touch with us—we’ve got a great range of quality plants ready to go🌱
