The SWAK Challenge

The SWAK Challenge Can you put NZ$9 where your kind words are? To someone unknown? Being curious to see what comes next? The written word. Pen to paper. Mailbox to mailbox. The effort.

Stamps to envelopes or postcards. From one side of the world to the other. Why? Having that someone to share with. Knowing this person is a safe place to express your thoughts and feelings to even at times when they can’t be by your side. To be in love, feel love, express love. To the people before me whose stamps I now have in my possession. To all those efforts and expressions of love. To the pe

ople who ensured they were delivered. To all those moments of history that were shared and learnt from, where love grew and people felt connected whatever life was throwing at them. In sharing these stamps, mere stamps, seemingly insignificant teeny, tiny stamps which got written words to where they needed to be I hope to take a snippet of history and honour its significance. The resounding thing with this personal and private collection that has never been seen online before is that I am in ownership of it. Me: who writing and writing letters, expressing thoughts and feelings in writing is a significant part of who I am. Attention to detail is a significant part of who I am. Imagery in pictures and art resounds with me. Travelling is a significant part of who I am. As an expression of love I do what I can to honour my history. Some things should not remain locked away.
