Manager/Contract Milker

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Manager/Contract Milker looking for their first contract milking job. We are a family business with all aspects (Wintering & Contracting) completed in house.

There is an opportunity to start on the farm from late January 2025 to manage the farm for the remainder of the season before becoming a contract milker for the 2025/2026 season. However, if a 01/06/2025 is a preferred start date for contract milking then that is fine also.

The property is 145ha, just 20 mins from Invercargill, situated in Rimu, milking 360 cows through a 28 ASHB. There is a 4 bedroom & a 5 bedroom house available on farm.

The successful applicant will be in charge of all aspects of the day to day running of the dairy unit:

You will supply motorbikes, labour (Staff), small plant and tools (Including trailing sprayer, calf rearing equipment, reels & standards). You will be responsible for shed expenses, rubber ware & farm electricity.

Farm Size - 145ha

Peak Herd Size (Cows) - 380 Wintered

Typical On-Farm Staff

CM plus 1x full time staff member & relief staff

Position start date - 01/06/2025 or earlier to manage the farm for the remainder of the 2024/2025 season

4 & 5 Bedroom houses available on farm

Must be a NZ citizen or have a valid NZ work visa
