Some seasons ask more of the vine.
In 2019, an October frost in Te Muna Valley left the Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris crop lighter than usual. But the vines carried on reaching veraison, ripening with patience, and producing fruit of remarkable concentration.
Because in wine, less does not always mean less.
Sometimes, a smaller crop gives the vine an opportunity to put more into what remains building depth, structure and character that can be felt in the finished wine.
The 2019 vintage became a beautiful reminder that great wine is never simply about quantity. It is about what the land, the season and the vine choose to give.
A vintage shaped by frost. Defined by resilience. Remembered in every glass.
