Based in the Netherlands, New Zealanders Cheryl and Jimmy needed a home for their eventual return to Auckland, and

We refined the brief to maximise their $900k budget to allow a beachside lifestyle and attract good tenants
We completed very thorough due diligence on the chosen apartment building, and negotiated down a prime two bedroom apartment with views in Long Bay that we knew would have appeal to good tenants.
The home rented immediately at almost 5% return.

Point Chevalier property secured for our clients more than $200,000 under budget — against seven other buyers.

The problem
Rob and Aneesya were buying their second home. Time-poor and worn down by the process, they'd lost homes they loved to developers before. They wanted both a home and a way to build wealth — but these types of properties are highly competitive. With a firm $2 million budget and Auckland's best suburbs in mind, they didn't want to overpay, and didn't know what it would take to win.

What we did
We refined the brief to maximise their budget and focus on what was most important. We searched both on-market and off-market homes to provide more options, and more leverage. When this property came up in Point Chevalier, a level 670sqm section with an original brick home and room to extend, we completed thorough due diligence to set the right price to pay and confirm it suited them now and in the future.

The outcome
In a competitive tender against seven other buyers, we prepared a compelling offer, negotiated terms that worked for Rob and Aneesya, and secured the property for more than $200,000 under their budget. Our clients now have a home packed with potential in a highly desirable location.
