Today Aotearoa is celebrating karure, the black robin, as Bird of the Year—so it feels slightly cheeky to introduce flamingos! I love our native manu, but this bird fact perfectly explains our event’s name. 🦩✨

Did you know that a group of flamingos is called a flamboyance? Each one is striking, but together they become brighter, bolder and impossible to ignore.

I’m Alison, and I created Flamboyance through AS Good NZ to bring together community, confidence, creativity and a fabulous night out—while raising funds for Dress for Success Auckland.

Thank you to our performers, participating organisations and my wonderful supporting team from Ponsonby Toastmasters. We shine brighter together!
