INTRODUCING KURT

We are proud to share that Kurt who woke up this morning as our Apprentice is now a Qualified Builder 🎉🔨

Kurt has been with us for about five years so far and in that time has been committed to learning all he can from our team and has been working hard to nail down his apprenticeship. We have been slowly dipping him into more and more responsibility and he has not disappointed.

We are so stoked for him. He is not only a hard worker but also a really good guy and we are glad to have him on our team. Like any tradie, he can do the mahi and crack everyone up at the same time.

PROJECT UPDATE 🔨🏘️

The team have absolutely smashed it so far this year. Along with our other jobs they have pushed this project along nicely.

- We have the whole place clad with James Hardie linea weatherboards.
- All joinery in, fixed and the large doors glazed.
- The window flashings, facings and sills are done.
- Skylights are in
- Internal stairs fixed in place
- Entry concrete ground and polished
- pre-wire done
- pre-plumb done
- HVAC vents and pre-fit complete
- Exterior bricks filled in
- Remaining interior framing and ceiling battens done
- Insulation to be completed this week
- Exterior plaster is underway
- And the best of all! Pool is in 😁💦

Things usually move pretty quickly from here and then we will be ready to tackle the landscaping 👍🌳 We will keep you posted.

PROJECT UPDATE 🏠🔨

Its been a few months since we started this project and the team have made good progress.

They got the subfloor down and blockwork waterproofed, stood the frames and trusses, structural steel positioned and welded, fixed all the rafters, prep and pour of the entrance slab, fascia and soffit installed, roof on and building wrapped!

It's always a tricky business merging the old and new structures and there are often parts that don't make sense on the plans when your working in that space. It requires a bit of initiative and problem solving. It's often the part the builders like the best.

INTRODUCING JAY

Jay is our site manager and qualified builder. He has been with StrongBuild for five years now and is a key part of our team.

A very competent builder, Jay has had quite a varied career in residential and commercial construction which had awarded him with an excellent skill set, good problem solving skills and attention to detail.

Jay is well organised, calm, proactive and always positive. He gets along with everyone and is a very friendly. As an active relaxer, he is a force but will always take the time to slow down and mentor the apprentices and labourers.

Jay has a young family who along with him make up part of our wider StrongBuild family. We are grateful for his commitment to our company and our clients.

Welcome to our next project :)

This is a 1950s boomerang house on a large 1/4 acre lot. The owners were fed up with the lack of indoor/outdoor flow and wanted to maximize their space for the kids growing up and those summer months of outdoor lounging and entertaining.

Over the last 4 weeks our team have been in destructo mode and have worked fast to demo the interior of the existing house and frame up a new layout, remove the existing carport and balcony, clear the site of all unwanted gardens and cut site for new foundations.

The have also built a boundary retaining wall, pile drilled and concreted all foundations and built a block wall!

We will bring you updates on the progress 👍

INTRODUCING RICHARD

Richard is our owner, project manager and licensed building practitioner (LBP).
He started his career in construction traipsing around the south pacific building and project managing marina developments. Eventually, he felt the pull to put down roots and chose to officially qualify as a builder some 10+ years ago.

Richy is a natural problem solver and is a friendly and approachable guy. It's been his goal in business to create a team environment where people feel valued and appreciated and in turn they are dedicated to our projects.

When Richard isn't working or connecting with clients and suppliers, he is a Station Officer for Fire and Emergency NZ residing in the Pukekohe Brigade. He is the recipient of a Long Service Good Conduct Medal for his 20 years dedication to the service and community.
