Pressure doesn’t build strong businesses. It reveals how they’re designed.

Two businesses can face the same surge in enquiries or cash flow squeeze — one stays steady, the other scrambles. The difference isn’t grit. It’s structure.

Resilient businesses don’t rely on heroics. They build systems that reduce friction, protect customer connection, and create clarity when attention is stretched.

Growth without stability creates stress.
Stability before scale creates confidence.

If 72% of NZ businesses expect growth this year, the real question is — is your business designed to handle it?

Big changes are coming to the Clean Car Standard — and they’ll make a real difference for Kiwi families.

From 1 January 2026, CCS penalties on used imports will drop significantly, reopening access to practical vehicles like people movers and mid-size wagons that had all but disappeared from the market.

Greig Epps from the Vehicle Importers Association says the reset isn’t a full fix, but it’s an essential step: “We’re not asking for exemptions. We’re asking for fit-for-purpose policy.”

Government changes to the Clean Car Standard (CCS) from January 2026 mark a critical reset in the used vehicle supply chain, restoring access to essential

Here is the change: Building for people instead of numbers

Houses don’t have to be cookie-cutter or compromise on quality. Scientist-turned-developer Kirsty Merriman is proving it with The Charter: 394 East Coast Road – three detached homes designed for people, not just the market.

Smart systems, water efficiency, accessible layouts, and thoughtful community design show what happens when quality and innovation lead the way.

Homes built to work for you, not just for today.

Retirement living is no longer a retreat

New Zealand’s retirement living landscape is shifting fast. As Kiwis enter later life with higher expectations around independence, lifestyle, and wellbeing, the sector is evolving from traditional care models to vibrant, purpose-built communities.

Senior Trust highlights how design, funding, and long-term planning must keep pace with this growing demand — especially as our over-75 population is set to double in the next 20 years.

Retirement living is changing as New Zealand’s ageing population drives demand for communities that offer more than just care. Scott Lester, executive

Government cuts CCS penalty to $7.50/g from 1 January

VIA welcomes the Government’s move to reduce Clean Car Standard penalties from January 2026 — a much-needed circuit-breaker for used vehicle pricing.

The change should stabilise the market, support fleet refresh, and ultimately help get more affordable, lower-emitting cars onto Kiwi roads.

VIA is also calling for structural fixes in the 2026 review, especially around the weight adjustment that’s distorting outcomes for everyday family vehicles.
