Introducing KTV Consulting
Kia ora, I’m Karen Tataiwhetu Vercoe (KTV) — founder and director of KTV Consulting.
I’ve spent my career working across government, iwi, sport, and the not-for-profit sectors, driven by a passion for Māori development, leadership, and creating meaningful change. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to serve in a range of senior executive and governance roles — including Chair of Te Pumautanga o Te Arawa, Chair of the Data Iwi Leaders Group, Director of Sport NZ, and Chair of Te Taumata Māori. I’ve also worked alongside the Privacy Commission and the Ministry for the Environment in advisory capacities.
In 2021, I was humbled to be appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) for services to Māori and sport — a reflection of the people and kaupapa that continue to inspire my work.
I established KTV Consulting to provide strategic advice and leadership support to Māori and Pacific health and social service organisations, as well as government agencies. My focus is on helping organisations connect strategy with purpose — building capability, clarity, and confidence to achieve better outcomes for whānau and communities.
Beyond my professional life, I’m proud to call Rotorua home, where I live with my two adult children. Sport has always been a huge part of my journey — as a former dual international athlete representing New Zealand in Women’s Rugby and Touch Football, I value teamwork, discipline, and the pursuit of excellence — values that continue to guide me today.
Through this page, you can expect insights into leadership, strategy, Māori development, and governance — along with stories from the people and projects that shape our mahi.
