Please follow my new su***de prevention page and if you can sponsor our launch for just $15
Sacred Trees Aotearoa is now active
This kaupapa is about strengthening wellbeing in our communities through practical tools that help people understand their brains, build coping resources, and stay steady under pressure.
Over the years, I’ve studied su***de and sat with people — young and old — who trusted me with their survival stories. Honest kōrero about what kept them going when life felt overwhelming.
Sacred Trees grew directly out of these moments.
It’s a model shaped by lived experience and grounded in best practice about connection, safety, and how people actually cope.
People attend a workshop where they learn how to use the Sacred Trees resources, and then they’re able to take as many of those resources as they need.
These tools help young people recognise their own supports and strengths long before they reach a crisis.
They guide them to notice early signs of psychological pain, identify what steadies or balances them, understand how those things help, and build confidence that with practice they can manage.
To run this as a 5‑year project, I’m being upfront about what it takes.
I need 400 people to back the kaupapa.
The commitment is simple and accessible:
$15 to help us launch, and $10 a year for the next five years to enable us to reach as many people as possible.
100% of all donations go directly to resources — including the app and the production of paper‑based tools. Nothing is spent on wages, rent, or amenities.
If I can reach 2,000 people, I believe 400 will choose to activate with me.
