Turas Consulting & Coaching

Turas Consulting & Coaching Leadership architecture for organisations building leadership that holds under pressure, expands what becomes possible and creates lasting impact.

Turas is the strategic home of True North Leadership Architecture™. Founded by Lindsey Brittain, Turas exists to help organisations build leadership that holds under pressure, expands what becomes possible and creates lasting impact. What makes this different is that True North starts with identity as the anchor, integrates identity, strategy and resilience, and helps embed that alignment into leadership, culture, decisions and systems so leadership change lasts.

fter all the leadership jargon, this is what actually matters.
At the end of last week’s True North Inner Circle, one participant said:

“I’m feeling connected. I’m feeling included.”

And honestly, I think that says more about leadership than most frameworks ever will.

Because whether you’re leading:
• yourself
• a team
• a business
• or an organisation

people are often looking for the same things:

To feel seen.
To feel safe enough to be honest.
To reconnect to themselves.
To feel part of something again.

This week we talked about alignment.
But underneath that conversation was something deeper:

Visibility.
Connection.
Clarity.
Belonging.

Because leadership that comes from who you are is the kind of leadership that holds under pressure, expands what’s possible and lasts.

After all the leadership language, systems, strategy conversations and performance frameworks, this is what one participant said at the end of this week’s True North Inner Circle:

“I’m feeling connected. I’m feeling included.”

And honestly, I think that gets to the heart of leadership more than most technical conversations ever will.

Because whether you’re leading yourself, a team, a business or an organisation, people are often looking for the same things:

To feel seen.
To feel safe enough to be honest.
To surface tensions without fear.
To reconnect to themselves and each other.
To feel part of something meaningful again.

This week we explored alignment — but underneath that conversation was something much deeper.

Not forcing agreement.
Not performing certainty.
But creating spaces where people can bring their whole self into the room.

Because when people feel disconnected from themselves, their values, each other or the bigger purpose of what they’re building, drift starts to happen.

And often what restores movement is not more pressure.

It’s visibility.
Connection.
Honesty.
Clarity.

Because leadership that comes from who you are is the kind of leadership that holds under pressure, expands what’s possible and lasts.

ONE THING THIS WEEK REINFORCED FOR ME:
LASTING CHANGE DOES NOT HAPPEN THROUGH DISCONNECTED INITIATIVES.
It happens when identity, strategy, culture, decisions, resilience and infrastructure start working together as one integrated system.

That’s where change begins to hold.

What I’ve seen recently in Board and enterprise alignment work is that once people can finally see:

• where alignment already exists
• where tensions are sitting
• where drift has happened
• and what needs integrating moving forward

…the energy changes.

Belief returns.
Clarity deepens.
And leadership starts moving with more confidence and direction again.

BECAUSE INTEGRATED SYSTEMS CREATE INTEGRATED MOVEMENT.

That’s identity-led leadership.
And that’s True North for Organisations in action.

One of the most interesting things I’ve noticed recently in organisational alignment work is this:

THE BIGGEST SHIFT OFTEN HAPPENS BEFORE A SINGLE STRATEGY IS REWRITTEN.

It happens when people can finally see clearly:
where alignment already exists
where drift has happened
and what tensions have been sitting underneath the surface for too long.

Because once that visibility exists, something changes in the room.
The energy shifts.

People stop protecting their positions quite so tightly.
They start seeing common ground and using shared language.
They begin reconnecting to the identity they actually want to lead from moving forward.

And suddenly the conversation becomes less about surviving the pressure and more about what becomes possible from here.

That’s the moment where alignment starts becoming real.
Not because every tension disappears.
But because people can finally see the system clearly enough to move forward together.

Alignment is not simply consensus. It’s visibility.

And lasting change only happens when identity, strategy, culture, decisions, resilience and infrastructure start working together as one integrated system.

That has come through strongly in some of my recent work with both a Board and a large organisational stakeholder group.

In both cases, the organisations were trying to pivot into a new identity.

The breakthrough did not come from everyone suddenly agreeing.

It came from helping people see:

- where alignment already existed
- where tensions were sitting underneath the surface
- where drift had happened
- what needed to become visible before the pivot could genuinely hold.

Because real alignment is not artificial consensus. It's visibility of both:
- what is aligned
- and what still needs alignment.

Once people could finally see that clearly, the energy shifted.

People started using True North language.
They talked openly about drift.
They started holding themselves to the identity they needed to lead from moving forward.

And instead of overwhelm, there was a growing sense of optimism, possibility and belief.

Not because every issue had disappeared.
But because they could finally see the way forward.

And importantly, they could also see that the change would not hold through one isolated initiative.
It had to connect across:

- identity
- strategy
- culture
- decisions
- resilience
- infrastructure.

That integration is what helps lasting change embed.
That’s identity-led leadership.
And that’s True North in action.

The question I’d leave you with is:

Where are you trying to create consensus, when what you may need first is visibility?

I’m testing something and would love your honest response.
For founders, consultants and business owners who have already built some success:

Which of these feels most true right now?

#1. I’ve had success, but the next stage feels messy.
#2. I feel pulled in too many directions by AI, systems and scaling advice.
#3. I know where I want to go, but I need a clearer operating system to get there.
#4. I don’t feel this — I feel clear and in control.

👇And if one of these lands, please drop the below.

👇I’d also love to know:

What words would you use to describe what’s really going on for you?
