Our first BA5 presentation on social media for small business was a success! We got some great feedback on the session (thank you!), had some new members sign up, and saw some excellent networking. Wonderful.

💻 This month, Melissa of Haute Take will be launching the Social Media Guide for Local Businesses for members, with a presentation on how to nail social media and your online presence, in a Featherston context.

📲 She’ll help demystify the various platforms and their purpose. You’ll learn how to maximise your reach, stand out from other businesses, and convert likes to sales. As someone who is terminally online, she’ll talk you what people are looking for on the various platforms (and what can put people off).

Featherston Paetūmōkai is built on small businesses, and community hubs like Featherston Memorial RSA. Our town is special, because when people are having a hard time, we rally, and we uplift. So, if you can make it into The Last Post Restaurant & Bar to have a delicious meal over the next few weeks, please do! When our businesses do well, we all do.

The Featherston Paetūmōkai community is wonderfully generous - but it’s at its best when it rallies around someone who needs a bit of hand. So, while Steve sorts out his liquor licence details, let’s all commit ourselves to heading down to the Featherston RSA more regularly over the next few weeks to grab a meal and hang out - and support Steve, his business and his team.

Thank you to superstar economist Brad Olsen of Infometrics Ltd, for a wonderfully insightful presentation on the economic landscape for Aoteroa and the Wairarapa.

Thank you to those members who came along, asked questions, mingled, and shared their views and experiences.

Brad said, “we don’t ever want to be at a place where we’ve got no friends in the sandpit”, and we’re very lucky to be in the sandpit with such a vibrant and innovative business community.
