My gorgeously good cook of a flattie, Katrina Dann, and I entered a crumble baking competition. We did not win, but our efforts in our wee kitchen were certainly aesthetically as well as palatally pleasing.

I saw a little photo exhibit yesterday, compiled of shots taken by 12-14 year-olds from Christchurch, documenting the damage after the earthquakes. I was amazed how sharp their eyes are, already making poignant comments on their experience at that young age.

It reminded me that I was about 14 when I started stealing Dad's camera and shooting my world. I wish I had those old photos, a print to scan, or even one of the CDs from my first digital camera I used in Europe. But alas, I only have stuff from college. This one is from my "Energy: Illuminated" show from back then. It speaks to that younger girl in me; she's still exploring...
