I’ve been soaking up some creative time lately.

When life is all processes and deadlines, pressing pause to make something beautiful feels like food for my soul. I get that life admin needs an income, but I’m dreaming of spending less time earning and more time playing. So many projects, so little time — I’m working in stages and holding onto the vision of doing what I love every day.

Speaking of projects… I’ve been hoarding this table for almost 30 years. It’s hosted family dinners, friends in need, and countless memories. It was ready for a revamp — and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Here’s to giving old pieces new life and making space for creativity again. ✨🛠️🪵

So lovely to be sharing our little haven by the sea with old friends.

Friends since plunket commitee days and so many fond memories - Gardens, kids and crafting!

While the boys were out catching fish we've been catching up over coffee, checking out the secondhand shops and getting our projects done.

Had to squeeze in making Marie's favourite raw fish dish with some of the boys catch from the ocean. This recipe one of my summer favourites and popular with most.

Feeling so happy to have spent the weekend this way... and still one day to go!

Life is what you make it✨️

Sometimes that's a hard pill to swallow but when you look at life honestly and affect the change you want to see, it really is.

Once upon a time(who doesn't love a good story) I lived by the motto that my life was a reflection of the choices I had made. 📖

Somewhere along the road I started believing the opposite.
I started to believe that my life was out of my control. 🎮

Then I discovered...You can't control others and you can't control fate but you can decide how you will act and you can in most instances choose how you feel❤️

✨ 𝗛𝗶… 𝗜’𝗺 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲.

I’m 55 years old… and for the last 10 years I’ve worked in banking as a business banker.

On paper, life probably looked “fine.”
A good job.
A steady income.
A routine.

But deep down… something was missing.

Somewhere along the way, between the early mornings, the pressure, the deadlines and constantly putting everyone else first… I lost a part of myself.

Maybe some of you reading this understand that feeling.
That moment where you sit quietly and think…

“Is this really it?”

Not because you’re ungrateful.
Not because you don’t work hard.
But because your soul is craving MORE.

More freedom.
More purpose.
More YOU. ❤️

And that’s exactly why I started my online business.

Not because I wanted a “quick fix.”
Not because I hated my life.
But because I knew I couldn’t ignore that inner voice anymore.

The voice saying…
✨ there has to be another way
✨ there has to be more to life than surviving Monday to Friday
✨ there has to be a way to create income AND happiness

For the first time in a long time… I feel excited about my future again.

I’m learning.
Growing.
Believing in myself again.
And slowly rebuilding the woman I lost along the way.

This journey isn’t just about making money for me…
It’s about helping other corporate employees realise they are NOT stuck.

That your Plan B can become your Plan A.
That it’s not too late to reinvent yourself.
That you’re allowed to want more from life.

If you’ve been feeling burnt out… lost… disconnected from who you used to be…

I see you. ❤️

And yes I do count my blessings... cos that's what you do isn't it? 🙏

But with every year you never feel any better off, there is clearly a disconnect.

I don't increase my discretionary spending each year but here I am still short.

And I'm not the only one.

I'd say that almost every person I talk to is feeling the same.

Every year my living expenses rise to at least match the meagre payrise I may achieve.

How am I meant to save to achieve a comfortable retirement?

It's got me thinking there must be a better way because while I'm skimping and saving I'm not living. I'm just hanging in there.

One foot in front of the other longing for at least a little bit of freedom.👣

Heading in a different direction today.
Sometimes we get so caught up in the "norm" of our daily life.

You can take a new path if you choose to.

I had a goal when I was young to retire at 55. Not to do nothing but - I work because I want to not because I have to.

Honestly I did not achieve that dream and I take full responsibility for it. I made choices that didn't bring me closer to my dream.

Here I am 55 and retirement is looking so far away if not impossible. I've had to take an honest look at the
"So when the kids leave home,"
" So when the mortgage is paid,"
"So once the reno is done"
Then I'll start working on it, delays or maybe they are just excuses.

Excuses that have kept me stuck in a pattern of living that is not conducive to where I want to be when I reach those golden years. If anything the way I'm living is driving me further away from that dream.

Something has to change and it all starts with a single choice to choose differently.

"If you continue to do the things you've always done.... you'll continue to be what you've always been"

These views never get old. There's something about boats on the water that I absolutely love, love, love❤️ So blessed to...

It was hard to get out this morning. I really wanted to flag it. Sit in my favourite chair and enjoy my peace until 8am. 🕑

And then I remembered it's when it's hard that I must push through.

Strength in your habits comes from repitition AND resistance.🏋‍♀️

It's when you push through that resistance, those times when the motivation is not there that you gain your power. ⚡️

My past wins were built on consistency and keeping on keeping on when the going got tough.

I can't see why it would be any different now.
